I start wondering if there are some hidden penalties for modifying your deck or cashing in the electrum...?
My deck has been active for almost 48 hours...and only 17 fights...i wonder how all you guys manage to achieve these high numbers of fights??
btw: the deck is still in the top500, you more fights should come?!

Here's the thing -- that's about average. There was a short frenzy of activity in the first few days when the Arena was shiny and new, but that's over now. Really, with 2000 decks between the 4 leagues, it's not a huge surprise when a deck only gets 8 plays/day -- there's simply not that many people even playing Elements in the first place. Particularly in Silver League and Gold League; everyone's playing Bronze for the easy rares or Platinum for the quick rares.

Ty, that explains it.
Should this be a topic for balancing?

I certainly might bring it up in the 1.28x thread if you're interested. Maybe it should be t400 or even t250? I don't know. :)
-
maybe top400...not sure about this solution, though...if we cut the number of active decks, it probably will become more frustrating for average deck builders as mediocre decks will drop out quite fast?
Anyway: ty for bring it up into 1.28x :)

Balancing it is a non-trivial task. Tighter limits on the number of active decks allowed means each active deck gets played more often, but fewer people get to participate. Also bear in mind that presumably the playerbase will grow over time, which will generate both more plays and more competition for league spots. If we got to the point where there were twice as many players and half as many slots, we'd probably be seeing arena decks getting taken out after a single loss.

The first day in gold I was getting almost no fights at all, but once my deck got into platinum it got a LOT more plays. I think I had about 8 in gold, which was about 1-2 days, and when I leveled up to platinum, I got more like 20 a day. Right now I have a 36-4 record in 2 days in platinum, and before that my deck had 50-20 in I think 4 days. So, from my experience, platinum gets way more plays than gold. I don't know if there's any way to verify whether that was coincidence or not, unless you can find some other people that are on the boundary between gold and platinum.

you could just give more electurm per win...
so 17 wins means more than you can buy 1 card

One improvement would be "Every arena match you play, makes it more likely your deck will be drawn against someone else."
So, the pairing formula should be based on a combination of rank and (matches you played - matches your deck played).

Increase the rewards and more people will play, I think. A few days ago, not only it was shiny and new, but also the rewards were much higher (gold was above 150, now below 130 - platinum above 200, now below140) so all decks got more plays. Not to mention that the decks were also a bit easier, at least in my experience.
-
I didn't get any games lik 12 hours and was surprised too; I thought that perhaps my deck was out because it had slightly negative score but probably it wasn't.
-
so far everything is going good for me, my deck is in gold for 2 days now and my record, well its very good, i won 70 loss 9 an i rank 57, i just 2 days nice ;D

I disagree...imo rewards are already really good.
Comparison:
imho gold is a bit easier then FGs:
gold:
cost: 15
win: around 120
FG: cost 30
win: 60
sure, you get upped spins with FGs...but its not that impossible to win 4 gold in a row...and special spins really have high chance of winning a upped card
imho silver is a bit harder then Half-Blood
silver: 15
win: around 60
HB: cost 20
win: 40
so if you fight arena, even if you only get a special win occasionally, you will already make quite some decent gold.

I disagree to this. IMHO, with unupped deck, farming gold is way harder than FG. Problem with arena is that majority are using the usual "Rainbow" decks + SoGs (in other words, balanced and boring). However FGs are easily exploited the fact that many of them don't even have permanent controls. In fact some FGs (such as Neptune or Decay) are actually easier than some of the bronze decks.
Besides the rewards, I think farming FG is less boring because there are actually more variations, contrary to the "dump 12 SoGs, quantum pillars and 6 supernovas" typical arena deck.
As it stands, Arena are not rewarding enough because FGs or even halfbloods are way more lucrative. Halfbloods are way easier than most of the bronze league decks and you can win upgraded cards from them.
