Does AI in Arena decks cheat? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=43731.msg1003242#msg1003242

I know I am gonna be flamed for this, but does the AI adjusts the card draws so it is favorable to itself and not favorable to you? It happens to me so frequently and so severely

Examples:
In the first 6 turns the AI gets 5 Blackholes and 5 Shard of Focus
Weapons is played and there seems to be always a Flying Weapon available
Supernovas are always drawn
When you are up for a Extra Spin, you get a bad draw (like a single Tower) or face a deck you always inherently have trouble beating
When you are just about to beat a deck, AI draws the only card which will make it win right then and there

I know it could be bad luck, but this happens to me so many times and so consistently I thinks the card odds are favoring the AI

Any opinions or additions top the list

I have noticed many of these phenomena myself. The only one I'm pretty sure is not just bad luck is the AI getting the one card in its deck that could keep the game from ending that turn. That happens way too often to be chance. Plus it cheats with quantum tower generation, I've seen the AI go from empty handed with 1hp and 9 light quanta, draw 2 cards, one is a QT that gave it 3 light quanta, and the other card was miracle.

No the arena deck AI does not cheat. (The skills it is given are the fault of the author not the AI)

What you are experiencing is a memory bias. You remember when the RNG has helped your opponent more than when it has harmed your opponent. To combat this make a record of every time it happens and also every time it does not happen. List events separately. (How many Quantum Towers generated 3 of the same quanta?)

The AI cheats completely and unashamedly, but there really isn't anything we can do about it but accept that this is how things are and persevere.

Especially in the higher levels of arena, the game will cheat and give the AI unfair advantages over the players. If you look closely when playing a AI Gold league opponent for example, and you will notice that most of the time it has over 100 HP without playing any shards of divinity. A lot of them gain more from their mark per turn than is standard, often seen to allow guaranteed supernovas on the second turn without any entropy pendulums. And a huge portion of the decks even have the audacity to draw multiple cards in a turn without a effect permitting it such as the hourglass. You seem to have noticed this yourself, with your lamentation of it playing excessively high amounts of BH and SoFo.

But to succeed in the arena, one must get over the blatant cheating and literal stacking of the deck with double the allotted cards and endeavor to defeat them despite their strengths. But this is no simple task, and I do not blame you at all for abandoning the journey.

+8 Humor to Thread, and in all seriousness, I don't think the AI is sophisticated enough to even know what card would let itself survive in the first place.

trolling comment trolls.

What OldTrees said. With the right deck, you will run into these problems less often. With the wrong deck, you will remember your rage moments and blame AI cheating.

Memory bias is a huge part of it, no doubt. But I still find myself yelling "cheater" along with various other obscenities on a daily basis. Winning seems to cure this, though. I've won 10 in a row, and lost 20 in a row with the same deck. As to the 'right deck,' I doubt it exists. Every good deck has strengths and weaknesses. Theres just no way you can beat dischole, ghostmare, sosac, cremation rush, light stall, grabbow, and sofo spam with the same deck. The thread for decks used against arena is way outdated, none of those decks is worth a crap anymore. And nobody who claims success wants to share because the next day everyone will be using it, and the day after that everyone will be putting up counters. Its that whole rock-paper-scissors thing that makes the game so fun, and makes me keep playing, no matter how mad I get.
