Beta EtG Is(n't) Beta https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=28026.msg357609#msg357609

Generally speaking, in-game results of any beta of a game I've come across has NOT carried over into the actual release, and for good reason.  If something needs to be tweaked, or an exploit was discovered in beta, it could be fixed, reevaluated, and didn't have an impact on anything else...it's basically a lab setting.

Since any wins/losses from the current Arena beta are carrying over to live, what happens if an exploit is being taken advantage of, or if something is found to be impossible and so causes a guaranteed loss for players?

On the other hand, given how difficult Arena is, if results didn't count, people most likely either wouldn't play at all or would just throw a farm deck in there for fun and not care.  Having the results from it count in the real game is probably the only way to get accurate testing.  And I would assume anyone found to be cheating or exploiting it too badly could be banned/suspended or if something gets totally screwed up, a rollback would be possible(though obviously undesirable and only an absolute last resort)

Zanz made a database backup before Beta opened.  If there's any major problems, he can reset the offenders' accounts, or even everyone's, if an issue needs to be corrected.
