Want to be as efficient as you can? Want to make other people and yourself electrum? Play the Prisoners Dilemma right! Rate every deck you play in the arena up, it's what I do. And I make more money than you, if you don't ^_^

You get five electrum back every time you rate a deck up, I see no reason to ever rate a deck down. I get more money, they get more money, which makes playing them more challenging later, which makes the game more fun for me and them! I'm also the kind of player who likes to take full advantage of every advantage I can. And heck, five more every time I lose is an advantage. I see 757 losses in my game, about two hundred of them or more are from the arena, which means that I've already saved 200X5 electrum, which comes out to one thousand! ... or more.

Why do you rate decks down? I honestly see no reason to do it, but am curious to hear your opinions on the subject :)

Happy debating!

^This.

Many people choose to give a thumbs down when they see a completely unoriginal idea, such as 6 SoFos just mashed into a deck and 6 SoSas for the ultimate annoying stall. I give thumbs down more than I should, but it's for this reason.

Makes sense :) I wanted to hopefully help the economy of elements by getting more people to rate things up more often.

have voted down every single arena deck for months.  this is a poor feature and never needed to exist in the first place.  arena (especially platinum) should be the ultimate deckbuilding test, not some silly theme deck competition.  if this feature took a survey of ALL decks, winning or losing, it might get real data about the "fun" factor...for whatever thats worth.

scrap this feature and add one that tracks who your submitted deck beat/lost to.  THAT would be awesome.  as a silly wish, a replay feature would be the greatest (and support structured pvp)

savin my love for something better
Zombie0 gives 110 percent whenever he's in the arena. He's a team player who delivers both offensively and defensively. He has no idea what a Quantum is.

unless I face a truly wonderful deck that's not meant to annoy people for fun, I rate thumbs down
there are just way too many of those SoF and SoSacs out there people abuse.

I'm with the majority with this one. I give a thumbs up if I face an original idea, or at least something that doesn't utilize shards.

Experimental evidence suggests that people gain significant psychological satisfaction from exercising punishment mechanisms in multi-stage prisoners dilemma situations, even when doing so is worse for punisher than the punished. I'd guess that most players dislike certain deck attributes (un-original, un-fun, cheap strategy, too difficult, too many rares) enough to exercise the thumbs down option. Honestly, considering there's no direct harm to the player voting, I'm surprised there are any up votes at all.

Clearly auto-up voting is optimal from a monetary perspective, but I'd guess that most players gain more enjoyment from casting down votes than from a slight uptick in coins.

Personally I try to vote up any deck that doesn't seem "standard" or "obvious", but my definition of those qualities certainly shifts with my mood (and it doesn't stop me from making un-original decks of my own).

I suggest a 3-choice rating: Thumbs down, which denies electrum payment, Neutral, which does nothing, and Thmbs up, which does what it now does.

Denying electrum payment? This is too big of a punish, since a lot of people auto thumbs down.
