building my first arena deck and finding it overwhelming https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=45987.msg1032008#msg1032008

Thus far I only have 3 upgraded cards.  All of the decks that I have seen in the forums have all upgraded cards.  Should I continue to pvp and AI3 until i get enough coins to upgrade a whole deck?  That does't seem very doable considering how much time that would take.  I realize a deck w/o upped cards will win less frequently but would it be a waste of time?

I suggest you have a look at some of the deck compilation threads like this one. Most have some unupped / semi unupped you can go for quick and use them for arena grinding f.e.

Should get you a fair ammount of  :electrum and some rares from spins as well if you follow the advice given in those threads since most decks are build by some people with awesome deck building skills. I hope this is of any help for you and have fun.

Btw. the chat is usually a good place to ask for help as well.

Thanks!  I guess I should have been more specific though.  I am building a defense deck.

I'd like to note that that thread is still a work in progress, however, and we don't have many unupgraded decks. The only one there at the moment is Regen2k9's unupped monodark"

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink

Which is a fine deck, but it's recommended for use against bronze.. If you're looking for :electrum, bronze isn't very good..If you want rare cards however, Bronze league is your best bet for now.

EDIT: By defense deck, you mean you are building the deck that AI uses in arena? If so, apologies. ^_^

Hm..Defense decks can be harder to make if you don't have a larger library of cards. Honestly, I didn't take arena deck building seriously until I reached platinum league. Don't fret over it too much, as rewards are typically low anyway. Treat it as a quick building exercise, 'tis what I did.

As for making a successful deck, it helps to have a general knowledge of the games main synergies and deck archtypes. When you get a card that fits one of those roles, build a deck around it. Alternatively, if you don't have many cards, you can ignore your oracle card, poop together a mono death rush, and call it a day. :P

Curious, what was your oracle card today?

For bronze you can go mono-dark (ninja'd) (if you got the supernovas I'd suggest the wrecking ball). Keep in mind that bronze is good mostly to get rares, to get money (for upgrades) it is much better to farm FGs at first (devonian frOTKal works unupped). From there I'd suggest tackling silver and above.

For building a deck for the arena (for people to play against it) I'd say upgrades are overrated (dexterity > wisdom)

Procrastination + Sanctuary + Eternity (if you have it) + Dune Scorpion + Blessing works well as a good stall deck.

I heard that grabbow and rotten flesh also work well against Bronze.

2. Simple fixes for simple problems.
3. Remember to fill in the holes.

think you should be fine with some rush decks, that also work well in pvp1.
graboid + shrieker, imo golems, nymph queen, ...
mono death, darkness or aether should work too i think.
