Arena Deck Appreciation Thread https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=34033.msg429326#msg429326

Originally, I had the idea of having a thread where whenever we see a well known forumer (or unknown, I'm not picky) submitting a Firestall, or other lame decks to Arena, and we all group together and call them names otherwise abuse them over the internet.

But that never happened, because quite frankly we'd be up all night trying to individually abuse each and every member who did this, and they'd just be sitting there, thinking "Well, they don't like me, but I have a lot of electrum, and money can buy anything, right?"

So instead, this is a deck appreciation thread. When you come up against a deck that at a certain point in the game impresses you, or makes you think 'Wow', that's awesome, you can put it right here, as a little congratulatory moment, letting them and you know that you appreciate their originality and thought.

I grind Gold League, and it is possibly the most irritating to ever try, since you can be kicked out after 2 losses, so everyone tends to revert straight back to Speedbow #2 without even looking at the wise words of the Oracle, or even the pictures!

Luckily for the purpouses of this thread, the first original deck I came up against was actually someone well known here (well, actually, I don't think anybody knows him, but he posts things sometimes, and one day I promise to read one of them)

I can imagine how screwed I would have been here if UGs registered in the AI's mental yellow bar thing. Respect for the 28 | 28 Unupped Golden Dragon!

Now, this next one was chosen, partly because of the awesome name, but also because it was fun to play against.

Something that doesn't show here was the reason that this got up, I was too slow in screenshotting it. That is, Sky Blitz. (The quints on their creatures are to prevent the attack doubling, I was very worried of running out of DimShields before I drew a cremation. After that point, I held on a while to see what it would do, and if I could catch another Blitz, but apparently not). This was also the first deck I saw using air, so I had to at least make a smile.

Somewhere, far far away, I do a little dance whenever I come across a Mono Air deck

Now, I can only play arena so much, and I don't do too much variation between the leagues, so I'm sure there are a lot of awesome decks I am missing, and not appreciating.
So, the responsibility falls on everyone else too, when you come across a fun and original deck in Arena, you're gonna have to screenshot it, and hope they wander across this thread and feel that little flutter in their stomachs when they know other people appreciate their work and effort.

 :)

(I don't remember whose deck it was, nor do I have any screenshots. But maybe if they recognize their deck they'll speak up.)

I was farming Silver Arena when I came across this deck. Their card of the day was Acceleration/Overdrive. Not a very common card, but not necessarilly a difficult card to use. It started off your fairly typical :gravity/ :earth duo, but then it got a little funky. They sent out a Catapult. Noone uses those. o.O But no big deal; I usuall ignore them. Then they used Flying Weapon on a Titan, and gave it Overdrive (as if Titan's weren't scary enough as it is already, right?). Momentum is already a major weakness of my Arena farming deck, and I don't have CC to handle something with HP that high. But all I have to do is beat him faster than he beats me, right? Well, that's a little more difficult to do when he ALSO sent out Armagios...and used Basilisks Blood on them. Still no big deal. I have a Chimera of my own, I'll just whip it out and beat him at his own game (Momentum, eh?). Well...too late. I got a giant Titan and Armagio Catapulted at me to end the game.

Automatic Thumbs Up. If anyone deserved it, this was the deck. It almost made me consider a deck using a similar strategy. Maybe when I get more Titans...

It's called "Catatitans", and is certainly not underused or original. The way you describe it makes it sounds like it was pretty badly constructed anyway - normally the decks just throw flying titans at you. What I'm more surprised at is that the AI knew how to use the deck properly.
Years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and Steve Jobs. Now we have Obama, no hope, no cash, and no jobs.

I've been playing this game for a while, and never saw it before. I'd call that underused, no matter what. o.O
