he only got two towers the whole game one of which i deflaged and the other was at the end of the game

The possibility of having EM in platimun depends on your deck. Today I had 9 EM from 40 battles with a pestal deck. :)

I wouldn't be so sure, quite a few platinum decks have poor quanta balance, which is a bit disappointing. That's also likely why pestal is doing as well as it is vs plat.
