I retired from the game because I got bored.  The arena gives me new reason to play.  On that account, the arena is brilliant.

I've been playing silver with >95% win rates and winning a ton of rares.  Maybe not as fast as as T50 with 20% farms, but I actually like fighting real and unique decks.

The deck building challenge for platinum is the best part.  Getting to build with 3x mark opens several deck options that would not work otherwise.

you were bored of AI3, T50, FGs, and PvP.  your reason to play again is player inspired AI5?  and you like designing a FG deck that you never see in action (besides testing yourself against it)

not sure if serious  :-\

the basic problem is that our decks didnt change!  in fact, our decks have less variety than ever!  creating the FG content for the developers is all well and good (and smart of them), but lots of deck types disappeared that were previously viable in balanced pvp.  the only thing unbalanced about t50's real decks was poor AI, which still exists but gets fogged over by deckbuilding put on steroids.

i would go so far to suggest that elements has given up on balancing pvp anymore.  its too bad.  some rotational deckbuilding rules, a 30 second turn limit, and a ranking system is all it needs.  THAT should interest a seasoned player...not farming a variety of derpy AI and creating broken decks with unfair advantages.
Zombie0 gives 110 percent whenever he's in the arena. He's a team player who delivers both offensively and defensively. He has no idea what a Quantum is.

I like making decks people cannot beat. :P

I made some of the meanest T50 decks back in the day and plan to do the same in platinum as well.  Now I actually get stats on my deck's performance.  I'm a scientist, I like numbers and improving efficiency of things and I also like deck building more than actually playing.  Not everyone is interested in PvP 1st and foremost.  I PvP sometimes, but usually only to test or as an excuse to build decks.

Also, I'd like to argue that this is one of the most balanced games you will ever play.  Obviously its not perfect, but I can take any card from any element and make some viable deck around it.  I can't think of many other card games if any where the same can be said.

Zanz never liked T50 and the way people farm the rare -not so rare- cards.

I think the Arena was a dream that come true to him.

Arena possibility are unlimited. It is our duty to make it funny and to make people enjoy to play it.

I don't think that anybody copy paste a FG deck in platinum league. I never do that for my part.

Arena isn't like FG at all. Maybe the  higher player in plat (saying at lvl 75 so they musn't be a lot..) look like FG but in bronze & silver there are no deck whichs looks like an FG deck. In gold there are decks which are almost FG too but we can have a very good win rate vs gold with a rushy deck and that is totally impossible vs FG.

In my mind Arena is just an awesome double defy :
1)build a deck which can resist to other player and submit it.
2) build a deck which can pwned almost everything :)

Anyway this league is really far less boring than the rest of the game (yes farming the 12 f=different elder and the 25 FG is very boring after a lots of games). Here there are news deck every day.

So, what else ?

Who didn´t want to be god for at least one day? In Arena you can play to be False God.

Like calindu said, this feature made a comeback for the game.

Just so it doesn't seem I'm bitching all the time, I finally got through to it and put up an arena deck, I still miss the old T50 mode but this is quite ok, and those who worked on it did a good job, it's probably still going to be tweaked a little at some point but it seems promissing.

Top 50 was always my favorite level because it provided for quick games, the decks used upped cards and there was some interesting decks to face.  I've been away for a couple months and now I see that Top 50 is replaced by the arena, but the it isn't comparable.  I've played a dozen games in bronze and silver and every deck has 140-200 hp.  The makes for longer games and forces you to play different decks.  If nothing else, make the bronze level so that upped cards are the only feature that can be added to the deck.  If I want to play decks with extra marks, draws, hp ect., I'll just play the regular AI levels.  Can't we just have a PVP game against the computer using player decks without all the extra garbage?

i think its a good challenge.  knowing i can beat decks MORE THAN 50% of the time when they have 2x/3x mark, double draw, extra life points, etc. gives me a good feeling.  and arena is divided into leagues to give you different levels to play against.

I hardly ever played Elements for the past few months. I would play it rather consistently for about a week after new cards were out, just so I could try them out, but then only once a week. Wouldnt even check the oracle each day. Now, with arena out, I almost always have elements open, and sometimes stop playing monster hunter tri so I can play this.  I think it is exactly what elements needed.

t50 was... dissapointing. I only played it for farms. It wasnt something you would do for a challenge. I would just farm it. The games would be either 30 seconds against farms, or 15 minutes against pretty much every other deck that was made.
This sig was interrupted by Joe Biden
