Anyone actually does the gold arena?

Hi there,

I'm currently level 43, and currently (as many others) in gold arena.


However I'm really starting to wonder: is it any usefull to make "new" decks? - In the gold league my current deck is there for about 12 hours already, yet it hasn't fought any fight. However it keeps dropping as new people enter decks. Soon I fear the gold league will be a very "lucky" portion: you have to win the first match or you'll drop out of the league. (And as we know, even a perfect deck might have a bad start draw & lose).

Shouldn't there be anything done against this? Maybe make the tier in which you are considered "gold" smaller? - Make bronze 0-30, silver 30-50, gold 50-60? As it seems most players are in the 40-50 region. This would even out the amount of players in each "arena league".

I know the pain to be in the gold league, there is huge competition(no place to put funny decks like crusader bows ).

And yes, it is useful if you put lame decks like firestalls/rainbows.You can gain some money this way.

I don't bother with posting arena decks anymore, just doesn't seem worth it. I really like how much electrum beating gold decks gives though.

Well in the past I tried things like black scorpions + nightfall (oracle). Didn't give me many victories, but hopefully the ones who fought it had some "fun". If the only way to keep in the league is by using a very basic deck that would actually have a cyclic effect: boring league = less players who do that league = you have to make an even more standardized deck = league will become more boring = less players .....

Maybe (though this might be against what the creators had in mind), make it possible to "choose" your league?

When I play the arena, I play gold most of the time these days.  When arena came in, I already had the unupped rares, so I had zero incentive for bronze/silver.  I started with platinum because it was worth more, but lately I've found that gold is a lot easier to win for me, and it's still worth a decent amount of electrum, plus you can win upped rares there, and I still need a few of those.

There's definitely WAY more competition for decks in gold, though.  My brother is in gold league, and I've seen him get knocked out of the top 500 after like 5-6 games if he doesn't start out well.  He's also been in the top 10.  Conversely, I'm in platinum league, and no matter how bad my deck has been, I've never dropped below the 300s.  I'm not even sure if we have 500 people in platinum league.  I'm glad I was in gold league only for like the first 3 days or so of arena before leveling into platinum :p

Even though I just entered gold a while ago, Level 44, I did feel that having a deck in silver rise up the ranks was easier.

I got into a habit of only grinding Gold League before the latest patch hit.  At the time I found that Gold League offered practically the same rewards as Platinum and I was able to win faster/more often because the decks were generally weaker (less skill points to use).  Depending on if zanz modifies anything further soon, I might come back to Gold League.

Most people see the higher reward for Platinum and less games required to obtain an upped rare and forgo Gold League in exchange.  Depending on the deck used, it is possible to earn better rewards from Platinum than Gold over a certain amount of time, but Gold certainly seems to offer more consistency with decks for getting rare spins in short amounts of time.
