Quite surprising topic... 

Well, im Real Sociedad fan since i was 5 and they won the spanish league two years in a row. Most of you dont know the team, not even the name, for sure, but maybe you remember we are the team Liverpool transfered Xabi Alonso from. Weve been in the second spanish league for several years, now we are again in the elite. And we got a lot of work ahead. 

I like FC Barcelona, Arsenal, and basically every team that makes agile soccer.

Have you ever seen a match of Milan in the 80's and early 90's? Ruud Gullit, Rijkaard, Van Basten, Maldini, Baresi... I dont like a lot italian teams, but just go youtube and check some Van Vasten goals. And then, see them again, youll need it.

Gold Cup final tomorrow. Wish i could go but $145 tickets are too expensive. Any predictions on the outcome? Btw USA and Mexico are the finalists. I may be biased but 2-2 at end of regulation and USA scores in overtime ftw

I like it when all their years of talent, planning and practise come together into one glorious dive, arms stretched, face determined, legs braced...
so that the referee can award them an equally glorious penalty kick at goal, interrupting the otherwise fast paced and exciting pace of the game itself, so as to not cause any heart attacks among the elderly, and decrease the amount of time they actually need to play - and remove the magesty of the goal scoring itself.

Yeah, I used to think being tricky at soccer was when you could spin the ball around your legs/head/any other part of your anatomy which you are able to spin the ball around  (without use if your hands). But these new dogs have new tricks.

Dirty tricks always destroy sports - as diving in this case.

'Soccer' hehe   

Hey guys, I'm English & a Newcastle United fan, we used to be up in the dizzy heights of Europe (we even beat Barcelona once upon a time!) but now we're very much a mid-table EPL side. Theres nothing much going on with us at the moment, we just signed Demba Ba he should be a decent signing scored 7 in 13 for West Ham last season. I can sort of sympathise with Sociedad too since we had a little drop in the second tier season before last and won the league to get back up (grats Real Sociedad  )

I think Andres Villas Boas will do alright at Chelsea, certainly not a flop - he's got a lot of older authority figures around him in the backroom staff and he'l get the respect he needs about the place. All the tabloids are tagging him as this Mini-Mourinho figure but I think he's very different, he's far less arrogant that's for sure . Hard to say whether Roman Abramovich will keep AVB around long though, it's pretty ridiculous paying 13m+ to relieve his contract with Porto when he's just as likely to get the sack at the end of the season.

What do you guys think of the under-21 championships? I know England were quite poor (doesn't help that three of our best players were essentially held from selection by their club teams!!) Spain haven't looked too great with Belarus taking them all the way, but I think they'l go on to win it - surprisingly though it's Switzerland with all the momentum (havent even conceded a goal so far)! Definately rooting for the swiss! .

It's very Tennis focused in the media here at the moment with Wimbledon on at the moment it's making me sad Although I still want Andy Murray to win it! 

Want the football season to start again!!

This is true for all Italian teams in general. Thanks RR for pointing it out. 

I think it is funny that all you soccer fans had to call your topic "The Soccer Topic".

It seems that a Jack Russell convinced them to change the name of the Topic ... Even funnier!
