Man, my brother and I were NINJAS at SSB (the original for N64).  Me playing Fox, him Pikachu, we had our characters mastered and knew the other's moves well enough to predict like crazy.  We'd often go through sequences of 10-20 moves without scoring a hit - we were aiming well, but the other person would counter.

He was insane with grab moves, and I would always annoy him with the speed of Fox's non-smash moves.  He tended to go for the big hits while I tried to dance circles and wear him down.

I suppose you've seen this (http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1736393) episode, then?

I'd rather be able to do that than have perfectly toned abs and biceps any day of the week.

chess. it makes you think. unless your some uber pro, and youve memerized every counter to every move. then its just sad
This would, of course, remain absolutely impossible for essentially infinity.

To put things into perspective, by the fourth move for each player, billions of possibilities have already been created.

Even a computer capable of calculating three million positions per second would require 5 billion years to compile every possible sequence for the first ten moves per player.

I have always enjoyed chess and soccer, though admittedly I'm not very good at the latter. People would usually make me rush the flank so that I'd be able to pass the ball into the centre. Unfortunately most of the defenders and mid fielders weren't good enough to give the depth pass, making the rushes a bit of a moot point.

Watching? Definately K1, and the occasional soccer match.
Shards aren't overpowered, as long as you have them yourself.
