Bah, man my starters this week are all over the place.
Playing the only 0-4 person in my league and I start with a 54 pt deficit after the 1pm games thanks to R. Bush and J. Bell being shutdown, Seattle D/ST not getting a TD on its safety, and S. Rice blowing his last chance with my patience.
However, the team of my love (and inspiration for my fantasy team name: Look at My Horse) the Broncos gave me 2 players with a whopping night. (no, I was 1 pick away from my top-choice QB in P Manning during the draft) J Thomas gave me 24 and Prater kicked his way to 18 more.
My last player to play is M Ryan (QB in this league means he could very well re-raise my 12 pt deficit as last week he got me 36) and my opponent has 4 players: change-of-pace RB D Woodhead, lackluster replacement WR2 J Kerley of the Jets, inconsisten TE T.Gonzalez who just came off a big game and last year helped me to a title, and fill-in RB starting this week for the Raiders R Jennings.
ESPN says I have a 7% chance to win, but last week I came back from a 9% with 2 players to win by double digits. I think I still have a good chance to win if Ryan plays well. If all the matches end tonight with the current score projections, I will still be tied for 2nd in the league so far at 3-2 with last year's 2nd place person (and the one who stole Manning from my draft plans) at 4-0 with his bye this week. Here's to staying alive for a 4-1 (my best 5 week record in Fantasy Football since I started it -- I have went 3-2 in two leagues, which last year in this league I started 2-3).
Side-story: the person I am facing this week must of hated the injury-proneness of D McFadden, as he saw Jennings starts for him currently out and dropped him, and I picked him up off of a sneaky 2nd waiver wire
(I did this last year with P. Harvin who turned 2 losses into wins at the last moment each of the weeks last year, before he in turn got dropped by me
)
Edit: During pre-season next year I will set up a new poll for starting a league, should this one receive at least some interest. 8 teams makes a small league, but still plays well -- I prefer 10-team leagues with most being consistently active from start to finish.
