For those that were unaware, one does not simply walk to the Boston Marathon starting line. You must run in an eligible Marathon race and meet the qualifying time for your age & gender. For me, that time is 03:05:00, or ~7:03/mile for 26.2 miles.

My goal for 2012 is to run the Dallas White Rock Marathon and qualify for the 2013 Boston Marathon.

As interim goals, I planned out two 10Ks and a Half Marathon - in which I hope to average <7:03/mile each time.

Running a 10k tomorrow in Austin. I haven't trained very well the past couple of weeks, as I've let busy-ness get in the way of training. Bleh. We'll see how it goes...

Wow...considering that I have a 16 minute mile on a good day, that's really impressive. Good luck in Austin tomorrow!

I happen to be a Long Distance running coach, if you need any help with training feel free to ask. I wish you luck. Also there is a second way to get into the Boston Marathon, If you raise i think it is either $1k or $4k for a charity, you get free entry. I know my University has a  Boston marathon team that helps with the fundraising, I believe alumni are welcome to join as well. check with Texas
