Long ago, a group of Elementals were traveling.  They passed by a mountain that had a strange quanta energy emanating from it.  Upon entering the mountain, they found many scattered crystals of different colors that seemed to be the source of this strange quanta.  Try as they did, they could not absorb or use the quanta the way they normally did.  Upon further experimentation, they discovered that if they ran their own quanta through the crystals, they could combine and reshape them as they saw fit.  At first they made powerful weapons. 
And then one of them made life.

Once I had that idea too to create units that will benefit from other units of that type/series. The reason why i didn't submit anything was the reason i couldn't really make it work. Those creature are weak when they standalone therefore you're forced to use the other crystal creatures too. That way those cards are probably only used in rainbow decks with exclusively crystal cards. That's not what i wanted it to be and i don't think you won't want that either. To avoid that the bonuses the crystal cards give to each has to be heavily reduced (that kind of destroys the idea it uses) to make them viable in other decks or those cards will only be used in one deck. I'm pretty sure the developers won't add a dozen cards to the game to create only one more deck idea. That's not the reason for adding new cards. Maybe you'll find a way around that issue, i didn't. Good luck!

Crystal Beast was the frist one i made, and it was originally going to be a one of card that only affected itself, but then i decided to make a whole series of cards that affect each other.  the way i intend to make them is to have it so you can get away with only including 1 or 2 creatures (at six copies) and still get a good benefit.

One very good way to handle this problem is to have a decent range of creatures with low costs. This make them easy to splash into a trio type deck. It also lets you run a mono-centric type bow. E.g. you would center the strategy around a powerful expensive card, like the skull or unrefined warrior, and splash in one or two copies of the 1-2 quanta cost cards to provide various benefits.

The real key to a series like this one being successful is that it will likely need a large number of cards so that you can have a good mix core-strategy and support cards that can be interchanged.

Spoiler for An example deck:
:aether mark
5 unrefined warriors
2 wasps
3 staves
2 flying weapons
3 PU
3 Dim. Shields
6 Air & 6 Light pendulums.

Unrefined warriors are your heavy hitters
Staves help power wasps and provide good HoT for you
Use PU on a high powered wasp and let loose.

Its a trio, but mainly centered around :aether with just a little need for Air and Light, so you should be able to run it of off only 1-2 pendulms of each.

On another note. That skull gives me an idea. I'm working on artwork for Hazardus right now or I would have made some art for it already...

Think Scavanger, but for crystal creatures.
Its just a rough idea, it probably could have cost dropped to 1 or 2 :time and still be balanced.

Not sure if the waterfall effect out like I wanted, but its mostly there. It was supposed to symbolize the Ankh blocking the flow of life over the cliff of death (e.g. like how it prevents a creature from dying).

If I remember correctly Yu-Gi-Oh!-esque (name-based, highly limited, "isolationist") archetypes were never regarded highly.

Hm? Are you trying to make a point about this series and how the community will receive it? Because if you are, I think you should be more explicit as I honestly did not catch it.
And as a matter of fact, I still follow the latest information on new cards and banlists.

no, it was a comment about yugioh specifically, I don't know how this series will be received, it's still in its infancy.  And and I just realized you meant for this game... I thought you were saying this type of mechanic in yugioh itself wasn't regarded highly... I've actually never seen this done on this site.

if you make something crystal like, i'll probably be able to make a card around it.  right now, i am thinking of making an otyugoh like creature that's cheap and starts with 1 toughness.  not sure what it's theme should be though.

Pretty story, good card ideas (not just for full crystal decks), fine artworks.. good job :D I think maybe the statistics are not balanced, They need to be tested to be balanced. I hope I will see this in game as well as the Sound cards.
