I can't find the actual post right now but I remember reading about a bug report about AI targeting the player with purify for no good reason.

I think it occurred when the player's weapon was frozen (definitely possible with Scorpio's lances).

I think someone mentioned that Swallow might work a page back.  Well, I just tried it and I was completely stomped in 6 turns.  Swallow is too slow in general and Scorpio can just freeze any creatures that you put out, so you can't use CC or PC....

Got Scorpio today and tried the deck dragonsdemesne suggested (with a little tweak as I only have 1 earth-nymph, so added some towers instead). I lost due to bad draw order. I got an early Poseidon, but he started with 2 Ulitharids before I could play anything and he had the quanta to use their ability too which left me unable to play my creatures (had a nymph queen and octopus in hand) as he could easily remove their abilities. I also did not draw any diamond shield which got me killed after some struggle with stone-skins and purifies trying to fight off the damage.

I think Congeals instead of Ice lances would have been better, as I never got above 10 water quanta. 2 congeals would have been enough to buy me time to get my repeatable CC on the ground and operational. So, my suggested tweak:

im testing this in trainer. so far, 1 win 0 losses. we might have a new counter on our hands

So I thought that I'd give dragonsdemesne's deck a try as well… maybe not the best idea when you don't have half of the cards upped (nor any of the right nymphs).  Plus I had a bad draw to start with, so it was a slow painful death.  I'd try it again though, maybe swapping in some more water pends (ironically, I had plenty of earth quanta…).  He already had two squids and an Ulitharid out before I had any creatures on the field….  I really missed the Lobotomizer from the water/aether duo (that would have been great to stop the lobo/congeal/poison).  It seems like this deck needs to get ahead of him to be really effective (early posiedon, or creatures on the field first) to stop the march.  Diamond shield worked wonders though - that part was great.   The stone skins were also quite handy as well….  In any case, here's the deck I used:

It works. It's worked for years. Yes, occasionally you do get a freakish game where he draws both his Purifies in the first six turns (just now, lol), but he usually doesn't even draw one in a 108-card deck.

It's risky, because 1 unlucky purify will wreck you... Would throwing a plague in the psndials help? What are the AI purifying priorities?
