i thought about using that approach (either that or a couple of novas/quantum towers) but decided it might be too late if i dont get it early enough
but the thing is that you can still stall long enough and since you have answers to everything else, it should be fine even if you get it later
i think water pends with aether mark is a better path to go

Yeah I agree, having 4 water pends at least could save you a turn with a needed purify.

Problem for me was I didn't have enough upped ;)

I went 0-1 with this and don't have time to work on it atm but I think it has potential:

Code: [Select]
5ia 5ia 5ia 5jm 5jm 5jm 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 622 63a 63a 63a 63aI'd probably try swapping three aether pillars for aether pendulums.  It needs more water quanta and can probably do with less aether quanta.  I didn't play it particularly well in my loss. :/

Used this deck in its fully-upgraded state. I almost decked out (won when I had zero cards left to draw) because the pesky Permafrost Shield kept on freezing my dragons. Can't complain, though; won with an EM and got 3 upgraded cards.

Just an offhand thought:  Aether mark, Aether Pillars, LightPends, WaterPends, Purify, Sanctuary, Phase Shield, Phase Dragon?

Basically like the upped deck posted earlier, only with Sanctuaries replacing SoGs and not upgraded.  Haven't tested it at all, just trying to put together more Newbie FG Killing FTW material and had the random thought. :)
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

This seems promising. It still needs fine tuning, and is strangely dependent upon getting the Shortbow out early. Save Shockwaves for Physalias and Dragons, but don't hesitate to Lance the Dragons to death the moment they rear their ugly heads. If you have Owl's Eye, replace up to 2 Shockwaves and the Shortbow with them.

Won with few HPs, needed either one of two purifies or a ice bolt out of 5 cards to win me the game (along with Scorpio not playing a dragon). Owl's Eye/Eagles Eye is great, since you can effectively add 4-8 damage because of the shockwaves.

Scorpio had a strange-ish draw, with only one dragon and chrysaora I needed to target. However, some more water quanta couldn't hurt, because with EE throughout most of the game and 5/6 Ice Bolts, I barely managed to get him. (Around 130  :water at very end game, - after 4 ice bolts- was worried about a second dragon)

Not very experienced in deckbuilding, but I might consider dropping one Wings for another pillar, or just adding another pillar. But don't you dare listen to anything I say.

Well I just lost to him today, had to chain shields early as he had second turn arsenic and too many puffers... so I let shield drop for one turn where I was sure damage wouldn't be enough and he used a surprise ice lance -.-

I have been playing around with this deck idea for a day or two, wining 5 (3 mastery) and losing 12 in my games against random false gods (not counting games with a pet).  I wasn't really ready to post it yet, but ...

When I got Scorpio from the Oracle, a god I had beaten only once, I read all the ideas against him in this section, and I thought this deck with some cards added would be perfect for him.

I won with mastery the first time out (despite not seeing a shard the entire game).  I have no idea how this deck will stack up over time against him, but I imagine fairly well, even if it never becomes a decent anti-false god deck on its own.  Maybe more people would be interested in playing it or tweaking it, so I thought I'd post it.

Here is the version I played against Scorpio:

Purely Ready and Waiting Anti-Scorpio deck

Code: [Select]
50u 50u 50u 5gi 5gi 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5io 606 606 606 63a 63a 6rq 6rq 6rq 6rq 6rq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u8 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 7gp 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gq 7gr 7h0 80h 80h 80h 80h 81q 81q 81q 81q

Here is what I have been testing most recently, which I modified to get the above deck:

Ready and Waiting

Code: [Select]
50u 50u 50u 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5io 5mq 606 606 606 63a 63a 6rq 6rq 6rq 6rq 6rq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u8 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 7gp 7gr 7h0 80h 80h 80h 80h 81q 81q 81q 81q

Well....I managed to beat him with this:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61u 61u 61u 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 8pp

I doubt it will work consistently but it's probably the best a fully unupped can do against - Shards help a lot.

A rainbow with light mark for sancs, purifies, explosions, the aether base of this deck, and the like might do better - will have to test that.

Perhaps turn some of those pillars into pends and add Ice Shield (Ice shield because it has a chance to freeze physilia)?
