So last night I was sleeping over with a friend, and they told me I was singing something in greek. He grabbed a notebook and pen and wrote down words I sang, and they were in this particular order.
Samos samos
damos damos
ankilo ankilo
madae madae
samato padre
tasso mano
badako amo
tasso soso
kamona amie
tasso lamie
amatae tatae
soloso tamasoso
lokanamo amatato
samos samos
damos damos
kamatae apatae
manae mokae
(repeat)
He said this went on for about 5 minutes, and he wrote them as close as possible to how they sound. The problem is, I don't know what language this is, nor does my friend.

Other people have had this happen to them, when just as they fall asleep, they can speak any language, or listen to any language to what they were saying.
So, has this happened to you/a friend you know, or do you know the language I dream-sang in?

Language is the intersection of sound and meaning. Sound can exist without language.

Every once in a while I sing in phonemes rather than english.

True, about language, yet however that doesn't explain the phenomenon of people speaking other languages in comas or just before sleep.
About the singing, I was singing it today, but it was totally different. So I guess it might be me just singing is phonemes, but I noticed the word "padre" which is spanish/french (can't remember) for "father". That leads me to it maybe being a language of sorts.

If we're talking about language here, I've been rattling about an idea of a language that is only partly sounds. The other parts would be (I assume) body language and stray brainwaves firing off as electromagetic wavelengths.

On topic: I think that if one person is tired, he could indeed start jabbering in some language that he picked up some of subconciously if he heard enough of it. It would be more of a parrot effect though, and as with many sleep-deprived memory fragments, it would probably disappear once you went to sleep/woke up.

There is a difference between language and phonemes interpreted by the human desire to find patterns.
In other words: They might have been parroting rather than speaking.

Didn't I just say that?
Different cause maybe (I didn't follow all the phonemes stuff completely) but still, parroting.

Your theory included subconscious learning of the language. So it was more akin to speaking than parroting in my opinion.

But yes, I was expanding from your theory.
