Sacrifice - RULES

Do you think there would be an issue with the fact that some elements have more cards than others, and thus more cards to sacrifice or use?  I don't think there's more than a 2-3 card spread between the most and least populated elements (and am too lazy to count) but it would still make a bit of a difference.

It's fine with me. I actually like it, since it's another variable to consider when selecting Elements, albeit a mostly insignificant one.

- So if I pick for example and my vault is 54. (BW and Discord banned, and are not in the vault)
- I sacrifice 5 "cards", lets say Virus, Bone Dragon, Antimatter, Black Hole and Catapult. I may play 10 upgraded cards in the next match for all rounds. But I'm not allowed to use those five cards. Cards that I didn't have sacrificed I may use 1 or more (up to six) copies.

Is this correct so far?

Actually you can only play 10 upgraded cards for the following match.
So, if you sacrifice 5 cards before Round 1, you get 10 upgrades for Round 1. The 5 cards are permanently gone. You get 0 upgrades for Round 2, unless you sacrifice additional cards in the preparation phase before Round 2.

Okay, then I understood it correct. Forgot about the little addition to say it refers only for one (next) match.

About Bans: I am not sure right now. I have a feeling there is needed a little balance to the current ban list. But I don't have the time to check it right now.
Btw. why are shards allowed? Just curious

Iirc, the majority of players voted to allow shards for PvP Events. I don't think any of them are too powerful, except Shard of Freedom in a mono air rush, but that has been banned. Shard of Focus and Patience are strong, but they balance out weak elements. Shard of Divinity is strong, but it's not nearly as powerful with Miracle banned.

But why did you ban miracle? It balances out the main weaknesses of light, which is slow damage. Imo miracle shouldn't be banned, and if neither do others like SoPa gets banned, I'd allow SoD too.

From what I've heard from BL players, SoD+Miracle with another element for CC is very strong. Maybe this has changed, I don't know. It would be a shame if the metagame were centered around stall decks, as they're usually the least interesting to play against. I'll have to talk to a few of the top BL players and see what their thoughts on the matter are.

The rules are already pretty complicated, so I'd rather not add even more confusion by putting banned cards in the vault, which is supposed to consist of all the cards that can be used. I'm also against changing the rules once sign-ups have already started, unless it is necessary.

I've been toying around with the idea that we could give players relics so that everyone can have 55 cards (ie, a player with 55 cards gets 0 relics, a player with 52 cards gets 3 relics). But I don't really think this is necessary in order to keep the Elements in balance, so I probably won't implement this change unless a lot of people want it to be added. Maybe I'll do something like that for Sacrifice #2, some time next year.

Basically, now that players are sending in Elements, I don't want to make any rule changes unless they're necessary for game balance or they're overwhelmingly supported.

I've made a small change to the rules, in order to encourage players to join the event even if they're going to have to miss 1 round due to vacation/travels.

- If you do not expect to be able to play the next round, you may send a PM to RootRanger to indicate that you would like to forfeit the round. If you choose to forfeit, you will be excluded from the pairings, and you will receive a 0-0 loss. The advantage of forfeiting is that you can skip a round or two without disturbing the event.
- Any actions in the Preparation phase, including forfeiting a future round, can be done as soon as you like. For example, if you decide you would like to sacrifice 9 cards in Round 2, you may send that PM to me as early as you like.

Just a clarification to rules:

Pillars, pends and marks are considered "external" from vault.

Does it mean i can use pillars, pends and marks even if they don't match my 3 choosen elements?

For example, if I choose  and , is this deck legal?
