I was very afraid of the upgrade advantage in the beginning, but i got the match under control, so I gained a little confidence by the end.

I figured out that elk had not much to do against monowater rush. I was wrong, because he answered fire with fire. I mean, monowater with monowater, but with more upgrades, and in a mirror game, the deck with more upgrades win.

In Game 3 I expected a deck change, but elk mindgated me hard here and stuck to his strategy again. It wasn't even close.

I expected a rush here, or Swallow. It turns out, I was half right, but in the end, I only made a surprise-comeback. Familiar words ring through the whole event:

We both got in a game once where the other wasn't there. When we finally got in, we both got worse hands than in the one-sided games. Elk got only 1 quanta, and my first 10 cards in my deck were only quanta. My 11th card was an Icebolt, which could 1-hit kill his first upgraded nymph, but i had nothing for the second. While he started getting the cards he needed, i was still starving for more non-quanta cards. All in all, RNG thought that I should learn to lose.
Now it was elk's turn to say: "Too close for comfort."

This is an event of karma. Once i got saved in one situation, i was let down in the same situation the next time. Too close for comfort. Remember these words, as if you're still in the event, you'll be sure to say this.

1 quanta start for paper, excellent draw for me. I think this is a better match up for me anyway.

After Game 1 I decided 8 upgrades was silly, and that I would play with 10. Whoops. Cue illegal decks.

Good match up for me, but when we actually get around to playing it I get my worst draw so far and paper gets his best. Sigh.

Epic fog tried to win the match on it's own - paper couldn't draw a second UG/Nymph for the life of him, though, so fogs efforts went to waste.

Had no problem controlling his early aggression. Used my steal on a fog to both push for damage and to keep my health high, then paper draws 5 UG in 15 cards. Lost by a turn.

I'm fairly sure this was a good match up for me - low quanta draws, no nightmare, no freeze... Meh. To be fair paper had a fairly high quanta draw, though with bolts I'm not too sure that's a bad thing
