theelkspeaks 2-3 Afdarenty.  Game 5 on hold for now due to both of us only having an hour to play the match in, should be played later today.  Decks posted after game 5.

Game 1 - Chargetal vs. Air/Darkness stall

Fractal gave me enough chargers to deal with his large amount of CC.  Close win here.

Game 2 - UGNT vs. Trident NT

I didn't get enough water quanta to give me a real chance, and the early trident killed me.

Both us were cursing RNG throughout this game.  Possibly misplayed by using my first NT on a earth pend to try to fend off creatures - turned out he didn't have any.  He was lacking a vamp stiletto, but four of my 6 NT were in the last 6 cards of my deck.  Decked out with my last nymph in play and and 9HP for Afdar.

Game 4 - Chargetal vs. Blue Nymphs

Early lightnings and titan won me this game, which was pretty close.  Topdecked a 3rd lightning on the exact turn I needed to to kill his 3rd nymph and hold out for the win.  Glad I modded in two extra lightnings between games.

Then we both had to leave for other commitments, so there was a 3.5 hour delay

He got the squidvantage early, and played his second squid when I didn't have the quanta to freeze it.  My draw was a little unlucky but not too bad.  Tried a desperate GP tactic but couldn't survive long enough, and my octo got frozen.

GGs Afdarenty! 2-3, and you get payback for our final day BL match!

mrpaper and Afdarenty as opponents, such RNG.

Essentially a SoW rush, expected a mirror match or the like. Brought in CC but was no match for the 12|6 Dragons and TUs. Both of us got rotten luck too though

Immorush vs Fractal Rush, brought in Phoenixes thinking he'll CC me. None of the sort, outrushed again.

Steamy CC heavy stall, tons of next to useless CC cards sitting there :(. Drew purify in time before Arsenic could bite me, yeah I think this one was pretty hard for him to win.

Drew one pillar in opening hand, 2 Immos but no Spark. Spielkind pulled of 3 Dragons which I managed to fend off with two RoF, but it was too little, too late.

GGs!  ;)

Afdarenty 3 - 2 theelkspeaks

Good games, as usual. Too close for comfort :)

vs Chargertal
The match up I wanted to avoid more than any other. No vagger in 20 cards didn't even leave me with an outside hope of winning.

vs UG Tears
Good match up helped by elk drawing no water quanta. A lot of freezes slowed me down, but it wasn't enough.

vs Trident Tears
Odd RNG here. I had the CC to deal with elks early nymphs but no dagger (by far the most important card in this match up) for ~25 cards which left trident free to smack me around. RNG decided not to give elk his other 4 tears until the last 8 or so cards, though, so with some good fog luck I pulled through.

vs Chargertal
Very close game. 3 nymphs as my only creatures in 18 odd cards (immediately bolted) left me without any real damage, but my early OE sniped a lot of his creatures. In the end his early titan was enough to win it for him.

Spoiler for Game 5 (WIN):

vs Frozen Pults
I had more water quanta and more squids, which meant I could build up a strong board. No dagger for 20 cards (again) but all the nightmares gave me the health I needed and stopped elk from drawing too.

I really love that Air/Dark stall.

Game 1:

Wasn't sure if he's switch decks or not, but I knew this deck was good against almost anything he had as long as I didn't get a bad draw.  Fractalled twice and over ran the defenses.  Also I learned sanctuary stops shard of bravery.

Was a little concerned EQs would show up in this matchup and they did, with a wicked EQ Otyugh combo in game 3.  Had I not gotten the perfect draw, I am certain I was hard countered.  But I drew 5 phoenixes and the creamation, and he just couldn't eat them fast enough.

This was really close as I needed to draw a card that deals at least 3 damage.. and lucky me.. I got a mummy

we desynched once midway in game and then kuro entered a game I didn't.. we both won the game and kuro also won playing alone so it was a bitter loss when I won at the 3rd try of that game.  Nevertheless, I feel this matchup was in my favor with EE and shockwave to kill shriekers.

Blacksmith-8
Dawn to dusk-6
3-0 to blacksmith

I was afraid for deflag and adrena staffes. I didn't see any deflags and I managed to face the adrena staffes with my counter deck. I was quite lucky this time.

Kakerlake 3 - 1 ddevans96

Spoiler for 1st: LOSS:
Water CC vs. Nymph Rush (earf)

My starting hand consisted of 4 bolts, a nymph and 2 pillars. Got the other 2 bolts soon after and a squid showed just after dd planted a earf nymph.
Would've been nice, if all bolts would've frozen stuff. But RNG thought it would be funny to let only the 1st bolt freeze.

Spoiler for 2nd WIN:
EQ Earth Stall vs. Mono Fire/Nix Stall

Had a nice hand from the beginning and thanks to my overuse of SoB, I knew how to counter it. EQ showed up nicely, so no chance for him.
He surrendered mid game.

Spoiler for 3rd WIN:
Grabby Rush vs. Poison Rush

A lot of chrysos but not that much death quanta early for him, I had quantaproblems but managed a continous stream of critters.
When his ice shield came, it was up to RNG who'd win. She was on my side.

Spoiler for 4th WIN:
Water CC slim vs. big Water Hybrid

1 pillar start for him, 2 for me.
I killed his early squid and came in with a shard and a couple squids. dd surrendered.

ggs ddevans, thanks for the match!

1 pend start is not good. Em. Shield made it out in time for air nymphs UGs to be partially useless. Flies+nymphs > SoGs+Em Shield.  On the last turn I took a gamble and bolted a nymph and then used SoB, but I should have SoB first as a RoF was drawn and could have killed the flies to save me from death.

Good games Odii, best of luck in the coming rounds and thanks for the match!
