Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.
- Players have (almost) 6 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both.
- If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time.
- You may only use cards from your Vault, in addition to Pillars, Pendulums, and Mark Cards. You may use any mark.
- The number after your name represents the number of upgrades you may use. These upgrades apply to every deck you play this round.
- You may change your deck during the match. If the match lasts 5 games, you are allowed to use up to 5 different decks, as long as they are all legal.

After duels, all players must submit their results and decks to this thread.

dark ripper 3-1 ARTHANASIOS

Spoiler for silly decks:
Game 1: LOSS

Swallow vs life/fire stall. Drew 11 out of 12 pillar/towers in the first 15 cards. That was enough to deckout.

Game 2: WIN

Nymph Rush against the same stall. ARTH got hardly outrush. 7ttw iirc.

ARTH got hardcounter here. I dont know if he had any CC in the deck, but 3 quick squids determined the outcome.

Was pretty sure he would bring a stall again, so I played this deck again. Low quanta draw by ARTH and again got outrushed.

Good games ARTH, nice try considering I had the upper hand with 12 uppes. :D

ALLCAPS (0 upgrades) 1-3 Rippy (12 upgrades)

Well, I am happy I managed to earn 1 victory against +12 upgrades. :P

Spoiler for games:
Game 1 (WON versus Shallow):
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5c3 5c5 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5fb 5fb 5fk 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 8pn

I waited either for Shallow or :death rush and I answered with this :life :fire stall which has a good chance of beating both, even with -12 upgrades.
Deflags burned SoPas, RoFs burned SoFos, I had a fair starting hand, Rippy had an awful hand, it was easy to outstall him. gg

Game 2 (LOST versus UG-NT deck):
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5c3 5c5 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5fb 5fb 5fk 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 8pn

I waited for a rush of some sort, after all mono :death can be awesome when upped. But my slow quanta start and a good start for Rippy prevented me from performing the only combo that could possibly save me; RoFiring twice at the same turn. gg

Game 3 (LOST versus SoPa :death :water duo)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fe 5fe 5fe 5fe 5fe 5fk 5m6 5m6 5m6 5m6 5m6 5m6 8pq

I decided to surprise Rippy with a rush deck instead this round. But very few quanta came and Rippy had a very Early Squid. If I had the quanta start to play a Seraph and quinting it or my Fire Nymph and burn any squids, this game could be different. Still, it was a good game.

Game 4 (LOST versus UG-NT deck)
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5c3 5c5 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5cq 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5fb 5fb 5fk 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 8pn

Here was a very good mindgaming from Rippy and a bad one from mine. I waited for another SoPa deck, more likely of Shallow style or Squid style, but he smelled a stall, so he used his UG/NT with a great success. Once again, a good fast start for him and the slow quanta income of mine determined the result. Anyway, I should had tried my :life :light stall instead which had Emerald Shields. Ggs..

dragonsdemesne - 3
fippe94 - 0

GGs.  Sorry about using the same deck all three times, but when planning my strategy I couldn't think of any way for you to beat it reliably, so I decided to use it every time unless you found a counter I hadn't considered.  Your third deck (fractal) was the only archetype I could think of that came even close, and as predicted, that game was extremely close.  I made a video recording of the match, but the sound didn't record for some reason, and it was going to take 45 minutes to upload, so I didn't bother.

Games 1, 2, and 3

Game 1:
Spoiler for Hidden:
Fippe uses a monodeath rush, something I had expected in testing and felt confident I could beat.  However, when we desync on about turn 5-6, his ai plays bone wall, which is banned for this event.  It was really too bad for him, because fippe would have won the game had the bone wall been any other legal card, including a dead card.  I had no miracles and only one shard of sacrifice drawn, so I couldn't stem his assault long enough for my damage to do the job.

Game 2:
Spoiler for Hidden:
Fippe uses a death rush with shard of bravery off the mark.  I'm very worried when I have a sole death pend as my quanta source, but I have three shard of sacrifice, and that ends up being key.  We desync again, and I beat his ai easily.  He loses to my ai, decking out when I had 2hp left...  :o

Game 3:
Spoiler for Hidden:
Fippe uses fractal recluse.  I had predicted in testing that fractal dragon would be his best option against this deck, and while I did think of fractal minor phoenix, I didn't actually consider fractal recluse at all, though fortunately the concept is identical.  I end up winning by exact damage.  Had fippe had 1 more hp, I had topdecked a miracle to survive; had he 1 more hp and had I topdecked something worthless, he would have won.

Good games, as usual! Feels a bit bad for failing game 1, though, but that's what happens when you always speedbuild.
And I didn't actually deckout on game 2, your ai killed me, while I had 0 cards left and you had 2 hp :P It was pretty intense.
Try Fragments, my card game!

10 pillars in my first 14 cards - more damage or a Miracle would have likely given me the game, but my third card was reflective shield and my 4th was my 2nd Morning Star, so pretty much as bad a draw as I could have in this one.

High HP creatures - Check. Healing Ability - Check. Mirror Shield - Check. Pretty much hard countered him here.

Crap draw for him - its the first time I played my mirror shield and its highly likely I didn't need to do so

For some reason I thought Dims were legal. So I brought a counter to a non-existent Dim Deck. My deck list had me playing the deck I played in game #5, which would have been a perfect counter - unfortunately I'm an idiot - and he played a solid counter to me. I still had a chance, but only drew a single dragon in the first 19 cards, no where near enough damage to kill him thru Hope.

I included 8 Nymphs because it significantly improved my odds of having 2 in my opening hand, unfortunately that was not to be. He bolted each nymph as I played it, his deck gave him what he needed to win, my deck did not :(

Not expecting a deck change... whoops, there it is!
At first I was up against quanta lock, but RoL/Hope is too awesome for that. RNG also didn't give Jen any creatures :c. Ended up beating him down with RoLs

Fire bolt too stronk, so not one of Jen's nymphs survived its first turn. Really awesome RNG here, as 8 Nymphs from Jen vs. 6 bolts from me wasn't a good matchup.

Best of luck later Jen. And woo! I think this saves me from elimination Round 3 ^^
