Even when he got super quanta flooded I just couldn't find the guys to tear down his bonewalls.
Game 1: Played my guys, lightninged his if no bonewall in play. Exploded an arsen. 2 Grabbies couldn't get through the bonewalls before the poison took me out.
Game 2a: I had something that approximated the best case hand. 2 pends, 2 novas, 3 grabbies. MrBlonde was never in the game.
Game 2b: A lot like game 1, but I was closer to taking him out. With 2 turns left the internet at my apartment went out so I ran down the street to my office. MrBlonde has an SS taken 1 turn later showing me about to die with 2 cards in hand. Those cards were Steal and lightning. He had enough health and 1 bonewall charge that if I stole it and lightninged him and hit with grabbies I couldn't kill him. If I topdecked the shrieker he would have been very low, but still not dead. So I honored his victroy.
Game 3: He got super quanta flooded and eventually I got 2 grabboids to work him down... but then (really I expected it, but it still gave me that hopeless sinking feeling) he drew another bonerwall. He had 2 guys in play and I was short of shield quanta so I was in a catch 22 for lightninging the dudes to add to the wall and die in 3 turns or just eating the damage and dying in 2. I dragged it out, but clearly to no avail.
Well, it appears I am all out of battles to fight this war. Thank you to all my opponents, both in victory and defeat, and to the organizers of this event. Special thanks to my team, who supported me even when I had crazy ideas (they didn't really use many of them, but they still supported me). Especially Kirch, who had enough faith to bid 3 cards on me. The only way I could look forward to next war more is if I knew we'd have the same team. It's been swell.
