Wow, those were some never wrecking games. Fortunately my draws were very good except for the first game and the matchup is extremely hard to play for the other side (often comes down to guessing what I keep in hand).
First game I had a slow draw with only 2 Pends to begin and Alan got out real quick with I think 6 starting pends. This meant blazing fast Fractix combo for him. He ignored all my permanents except Dim Shields which was enough as he only had to blow up two Dims.
Second game I was still not very fast (3 Pends) but Alan was slower too. He still got out a bunch of Phoenixes but this time his deflags on my Dims were not enough to push through because of that. Since he hadn't deflagged my Eternity (would have had one in reserve too) that meant I could just roll it out. There was still a very close moment in the end - my quanta were buried pretty deep so I had to dig a lot with my HG. This meant on the last turn that I had to rewind my own creature. Deflag or Dim Shield topdeck would have won it for him there.
Third game I had one Hourglass and rest pillars. A well timed Deflag would have destroyed me here so I kept a few Pillars in hand to make him think I had more business. He indeed did not deflag it so I drew lots of nice things. Soon he had to chain his own Dims to not die and when they ran out I won.
Fourth game great draw again. Lots of pillars and HG meant I could pressure him quickly. Alan took some more time to sculpt a good hand here, but it seemed he messed up his Dim Shield timing a little so suddenly my ghosts could attack freely and I won.
Thank you for the games Alan, and once more, for subbing.
