Game 1: Won toss. Turn 2 Squid for me, but turn 2 Poseidon for him cripples my quanta albeit 1 EQ at a time. I don’t draw an OE or SoP to chip away until much later, while he accumulates a ton of . I let Wings down for a turn (which proved to be a fatal mistake) to see if he’ll take the bait and play what he has so I can gauge his deck, as I thought he had a bunch of harmless Grabboids in hand. He plays most of his hand, and bursts hard with a surprising amount of non-Grabboid creatures! I put up one of the two Wings in my hand, which is Exploded. I put up yet another, and he topdecks a Nova and Explodes it too for the win!

Game 2: Won toss. Turn 3 Squid for me. Still no early SoP, but got OE and Tears this time. Early Poseidon for him, so I decide to rush him with Nymphs instead of waiting for more quanta generation and to make EQ hurt less for my quanta clusters with at least 2. I get out two Nymphs before we desync, but we played AI and I won my side, and he lost his.

Game 3: Lost toss. Very strong quanta start from me, + OE, Squid, and Tears. Tried to rush him again like last time, but no bueno as his Skull Buckler starts messing with my 5+ HP Nymphs hard. He makes a really smart move by Exploding my OE + BB’ing my lone Squid and evolved his Grabboid for massive damage, but unfortunately for him I topdeck a Squid like two turns later and forced him to burrow it. I played a midgame SoP while I kept drawing Squids one after another, and I prayed for Wings. Things were getting dire as I decide I had enough damage to pop the SoP for a 2TKO. I never saw a Wings until the turn I killed him. This was the closest game by far, as I won by a turn.

Game 4: Lost toss. Decent quanta start from me, while he gets a 1 Nova start. Ouch. I did draw both SoP, which I didn’t need, and no creatures. Fortunately, I draw a Squid the turn he lays down a Grabboid. I play the OE instead of Wings so I can start chipping away (as I’d have to wait another 2 turns to play either while the Pends generate quanta). I draw more and more Squids, and he gets more creatures I assumed, as he doesn’t play them nor Explode my Wings. He plays all his creatures when I established a vice grip on the game and victory was most certainly mine b/c he couldn’t Explode the Wings I was drawing. GGs!

Thank you Rulac for being the War opponent this War to be the most on top with scheduling the match with me! I'm glad you told me of your RL issues so that I could wait for you and not ask for a sub right away; I appreciate the transparency. We managed to play a thrilling game! I hope you get whatever's going on sorted out soon, and prioritize RL over games. Thanks again to Esp for subbing for a teammate in need! Sorry for the bad(?) RNG you had, and best of luck to you guys this round for a comeback!

I suppose a good dose of consistent 1 pillar starting hands, added with starting game four with one nova and nothing else, multiplied by how the hell did you beat that again... Yeah. *Cough.*

As for winning: 2 Pend + 1 Nova starting hand, followed by a second turn Poseidon Followed by another early Nova for Skull Buckler. Destroyed all his pillars/pends as he stalled with wings. He finally got his SoPa out, and wings dropped. Dropped all I had. He played wings -> Deflag. He played wings again -> Another deflag. I believe it was a 12 turn game.

No problem! Always prioritize that over games. You were transparent with me, so that negated potential frustration that may have occurred otherwise. Hope you get it figured out man. Take care.

I thought we both agreed it was a misunderstanding and an attitude problem on Spiel's part, but I guess not. You had me believe we resolved the issue. Just to mind you, I waited an hour and a half before Rulac showed up due to RL problems, then waited another half hour to start. I gave him all the courtesy.

That being said, no, our issue was never resolved. It was clear we weren't going to agree, so I conceded the situation to you to avoid drama. My last post was intended to be respect for what I believed was your understanding of that situation causing lines of thought leading to your recent talks about transparency in communication, not sarcasm or malice as it seems came across.

I told Newbie in a PM after game 1 that he could find someone from Team Water to sub for me, and that I would only be away for 15-30 minutes. Fortunately someone could sub as I wasn't able to be back for the rest of the night, and my head still isn't in the right place to play a match, and it would have caused me to make mistakes. Thank you Espi for subbing. Yes, I was transparent about my issue, but my real life issues are mine and mine only as I'm super close to many, if any, people at all on the forum which is something I'm working on. Was a good first match though, and nice deck Air! Good luck the rest of war.

P.S. Newbie isn't such a bad guy. I worked with me even as I constantly had to afk before the first match - i'm sure he was getting frustrated and I understand. Thank you.

Thank you for this. I definitely took it the wrong way and thought it was a backhanded comment from you, and for that I apologize. I do like to think I learn from my mistakes, especially from round 2.

Zero frustration at all. You were very nice about the whole ordeal. If anything, the only thing I felt was a rumbling stomach, as I delayed my supper for quite a while b/c of the delays, as I relayed to Esp, and the prime reason I wanted to get the match done and over with asap. xD
