*shaking*
Breathe in. Breathe out.
Almost had this go in a completely different direction. Thank you RNG...
Game 1: *expects light stall* *sees fire mark* Huh. well this could be bad. *Looks at research*...deflags. those damn deflags. As I searched for me pends and such, he pulled out a nice hefty Diamond Shield to boot :/ I decided to test the waters with a GoTP to see if there was any CC. No CC, so that was good (this would come in handy later). He only had a Basalt Dragon in the first 6 turns, so I was happy. Then, a Golem+Phoenix+Deflag. That was not nice at all. With no Eternity, no Dragon, and no Silence, I realized what was going to happen. My shields couldn't handle his 2 or so deflags. I Fractalled my GoTP out of desperation. Game 1 to Earth.
Game 2: Ok, I know whats coming, I can do this. Hm. 2 pend start, not fun. Compile this with about 19 damage a turn on his side. Thankfully, more pends came along and I managed to pull out 4 shields...to match his 4 deflags. (Pretty sure it was 4) Game 2 to Earth.
Game 3: Not hard to feel pessimistic with another 2 pend start, then again, I have this fancy hourglass to look for things. Alright. After some nice buildup and about 64HP left, I pull out my Shield. No deflag. Well this is nice I thought. I pulled out my Dragon and GoTP, fearing CC, but not expecting it. When the time came, pulled out Fractal and killed him to death. Game 3 to Time.
Game 4: oooh. 6 pillar/pend draw vs. 7 pillar/pend draw (I had 6). He had 2nd turn Golem, and wore me down a little bit. I pulled out the Shield. Deflag. (here we go again). I had plenty of other shields, but I knew what could happen. I topdecked Eternity, which was a moment of pure win. RT his Dragon, and used a shield. I pulled out my Dragon, but didn't fractal it yet. No deflag. Happiness ensued as I RT his Phoenix and Fractalled my Dragons...and then I froze. I didn't have enough quanta to use another shield!!!!!...Cheesy probably was ready to rip my head off. Thank God he only pulls out enough to get me to 2HP. I pull out more dragons and won. Game 4 to Time.
Game 5: Slow start for Aether quanta. 1 pend and 4 pillars. Das ist nicht so gut. Also no Hourglass initially made me nervous considering he had a Golem and Phoenix in circulation relatively early. I got an Eternity and a Shield. He deflagged the shield. Not what I needed with limited pends. I drew an Hourglass and began looking for my pends. I also pulled out a Dragon, believing in the theory of no CC. I RT'd his creatures, keeping him on Deflag lock down as I found pends and SHields. He then began to keep his creatures in his hand, looking for a 2nd, maybe 3rd deflag. That would never come to fruition. I beat him down and never saw another deflag. Game 5 to Time.
Even down 0-2 you can't keep TIME down! Let's keep on rollin'!
