In testing we won pretty comfortably against the Shard Golem. Game plan was something along the lines of draw Vamp Dagger, maybe Fog, win easily. It was the draw Vamp Dagger part that I had trouble with, in the non-timeout games, anyway. That and Fog shields that didn't block - RNG was not kind.
Ended up giving up the win (twice, probably), on the grounds that I'd prefer to lose a match all involved felt was played fairly than to win a match and leave people feeling cheated. Sorry team. I hope you understand.
G1: No Fog, no Dagger, no Nightmare. Lost by a turn.
D1: First time out, at turn 1. Got Dagger, Fog. Agreed to replay, despite me having played it out and easily won against the AI (who played well, early Steam Golem, never missed an ability use).
G2: No Fog, no Dagger, 1 Nightmare. I had a pretty fast draw, though, with lots of Wyrms. Manuel needed exactly a Sniper Golem with an early Congeal to win, as well as for me to not draw Fog/Dagger in the top half of my deck. Which is exactly what happened. Lost by 10 health.
G3: No Fog, but Dagger! In a non-desync game! Was racing against an early Steam Golem, but still comfortably outrushed.
G4: Fog, Dagger! Very comfortable win, despite Fog not blocking much.
D2: Another time out at turn 1. I PM'd Manuel in chat immediately after the desync saying I wanted to play it out this time - the games were taking a while, I had other stuff that needed doing, and my hand was pretty much unbeatable. AI had a great draw, and again played well, with early Steam Golem/not missing an ability use. But I won with 86 health left anyway. Turns out Manuel quit the game immediately after the time out happened, though, assuming we'd just replay. Agreed to replay despite rules giving me the win (and a far from close game) because Manuel felt the situation wasn't at all fair for him - he didn't have the chance to play it out, and the AI can play very poorly sometimes. Some screenshots below.
G5: Fog, no Dagger, 1 Nightmare. Does drawing Fog count as a good thing when it only blocks 13 (irrelevant) damage the whole match? Lost by a turn.
