PrologueWe had several mismatches, including our first time connection where we desynched. I had a 5 turn win on my end, but wiiiieeeeerd stuff was happening. So I sad phooey, I'd rather know what I won against, retry. It took us a while to get connected again after that.
Game 1I had a fairly quick start. 1 Pillar 1st turn, then 2 Nova, Graboid, Arsenic, Lycanthrope the next turn. Arsenic basically did most of the work, pulling out 7 or 8 poison counters by the end of the battle while Shriekers kept getting doused in Basilisks Blood. My Lycan got pretty angry at the end and stole the Rage Potion I was saving for a shrieker, dropping UTAlan down to 1hp. Poison did the rest.
Game 2Much worse hand for me, or so I though. 2 Fire Pends turn 1, then I drew a 2nd nova and dropped Fog and a Graboid. Pends EQ'd, but I dropped a Pillar to pull out my Lava Golem. They just hammered away as Fog kept the early Hematites at bay until the Golem hit 7hp, dropped a Rage Potion on it to add 5 damage, leaving a mere 5 hp left to deal with. 2 Basilisk Bloods stopped me in my tracks. I was now in pretty deep trouble. I had a Lava Golem in hand, but only 2 Fire Quanta, 2 Fire Pillars, and 2 turns to live. I ended my turn at 4 quanta, my hp dropped into critical. It was now up to hAXx. Fog would just have to keep me alive. Then I drew a Nova. Lava Golems were the true heroes of this game.
gg's Alan! The intensity in the air was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. And eat it on crackers if you wanted! Although intensity tastes funny to me.
