Upped dusk was for pretty much anything.  Upped steals were intended for discords, yes; I was predicting them, and was almost sure they'd be used.  It was one of the reasons I included amber nymphs.

Not necessarily true. I f gravity loses their other match, i believe they will be knocked out as well. In which case, life has a better record and would finish 11th.

Damn, I thought vault size was the tie breaker.

It used to be, but total win rate is a better measure of how teams actually did in comparison to each other, so the tiebreaker was changed for War 5 and onwards.

I believe you, but where is this actually stated.... doesn't seem to be in the current set of rules (they just clarify the win condition)?  Is there a separate page that discusses rankings that I overlooked?

Interesting... so even though we're still in this war (albeit barely), we would have to win 4 more times to place ahead of Life?   Seems a bit odd, but OK.  here comes two more perfect rounds!
