MrBlonde (death) 2 vs Helios (light) 1 https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=9360.msg110539#msg110539

I thought we were going to face lights icebolt stall deck so planned accordingly but they used it against fire. Then i thought they were going to use momentum rush which would really sink this deck. Fortunately for me they used an earth deck.

Game 1- Because i figured he would have EQ's i played my aether pillars one by one and Helios being smart targeted only my aether pillars. Unfortunately i never got past 4 quanta.  I thought i had this game in the bag but silly me i forgot about Miracles. Got two bonewalls up but it wasn't enough to stop his dragon and Morning Star. Got a discord up but didn't help.

Game 2 - Better draw with the aether pillars. I was able to get out enough aether pillars to get out 15 aether quanta total to be able to play a fractal and a dim shield even though he managed to use 4 EQ's during the match. Both cards were key as i had to fight through 2 miracles. I feel badly because Terroking and another person in chat stated that Helios used a Miracle when he had only 13 :light quanta thus having an upped card. I also thought he had less then 15 quanta and stated he had an illegal deck when i meant to say it would have been an illegal deck. Sounded really jerky in chat. So sorry again Helios.

Game 3 - Helios got a terrible draw and only was able to get 1 :light tower out while i got out 3 early recluses and a 2 poison counter. Those creatures were enough to take him out because he never got enough :light quanta to miracle. Funny enough the one game i had 0 entropy quanta i had my antimatter in hand.

Good games Helios and :death finally won against :light.

Well played mrblonde, and congratz to staying in another round.Just 2 things....

1: That is quite a large deck. I'm not sure what convinced you to take the Entropy cards, but it looks like it worked out in your favor.

2: About the spectate thing... It did say on (The rather buggy) spectate that he only had 13 Light quanta, but that was probably spectate's fault (I had to refresh it every turn to keep watching the game, since it would just stop if I didn't) and I'm also sorry if it was a false accusation.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Well i guess i will explain why i took the entropy cards. Basically :light has been the toughest matchup for us (0-4 vs :light and 11-7 against everyone else and honestly should have been 12-6 but i made an error in 1 game that cost us the match) and have used their icebolt stall deck each time they could to beat us (3 times).

I honestly thought regardless of what we did we would lose vs that deck. I did what i had to so i could push us through to the next round even if we lost. In the end though this deck worked out so i'm happy as a clam.

We were pretty confident that Death would play their Death-Aether deck.  After talking about it some, we decided that the Water deck would probably be over-run by his 6/3 Fractal'd Recluses.  So we opted for Earth to EQ his Pillars and force him to choose between Shields or Fractals.  We also tried to give Helios more offensive power to keep the pressure on.  But it wasn't enough.

Alas, Light loses all 4 matches this round.   :(  But we do have enough cards for 1 more deck . . .

Yes, good games, MrBlonde; and regarding the :light quanta issue, you only made a minor mistake which was probably caused by technical issues anyway, so it is fine :)
