Corrum (fire) 2 vs Dragoon (light) 0 https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=9336.msg110122#msg110122

2 relatively quick games.
Code: [Select]
52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52q 52q 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f2 5f2 5f2 5f2 5f2 5f2 5f6

Game 1 - Saw the water mark and was worried about purify.  I had 2 arsenics a poison a dragon and some pillars in my opening hand.  Played arsenic first then played out the rest of my hand as available.
The dragons each died within a turn to ice bolts, 3 dragons, 3 ice bolts in quick succession.  There was an early ice shield but it failed to freeze anything.  It came down to a race to see if I could get out enough poison until I could get him in reach of my last couple dragons. I think we ended with 24 poison counters on Dragoon.

Game 2 - Knowing how his deck played I just hung onto all my dragons and only played poison and an early arsenic until I could drop 4 dragons at once for the win.

Good Games Dragoon

Was hoping he would play a creature focused deck.  Being bolted to death was my main worry, but what I didn't expect was a variation of coke's burnfection deck.  Too bad I didn't put in our Purifies.

Game 1- Had a decent start with plenty of CC and quantum to play it.  Unfortunately, he had a pretty good draw getting Arsenic early and getting most of the poisons in the first half of his deck.

Game 2- I knew he was saving up those Dragons, but I wasn't drawing my Miracle.  I tried to stall with Holy Lights but he got to me before I got my Miracle.

So if Helios loses, are we out?

No you wouldn't be out. You currently can salvage 14 :light cards from your 3 losses so if Helios' deck is 31 and he lost you would be able to salvage one more :light card to make a legal deck.  Also i'm sure you have a :light card or two in your vault still along with a bunch of other cards.

Anyhow you'll find out tomorrow morning 11am PST to see if he wins or loses.

ETA - although if they use purify that would mean they would have to splash water which really would slow whatever deck they are going to use (i'm guessing momentum since they know we have dim shields and bonewalls). So they probably won't use purify.

The funny thing is, that if Dragoon's deck had carried the 2 Reflective Shields (And more Miracles, since they decided to junk those too...) that were in Hobnob's suicide deck, he very probably would have won.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

They had 2 reflective shields that they used for their suicide matchup vs Terroking. Although i fail to see how reflective shields would have been better in this matchup. Nothing to reflect.

Exactly!  We knew that they knew we had Reflective Shields.  So we guessed they wouldn't take bolts against us.  And they didn't.  :)

We didn't have any more Miracles, otherwise I would've put Miracles in instead of Holy Lights. (Hobnob's deck didn't have any Miracles).
