When I saw earth mark, "ooh! better watch mah pillar!". Of course I was wrong.
Game 1:Playing 1 pillar and 1 pend was not a tactic against EQ. Basically a terrible hand. At this point. I thought it was the dreaded Twin Graboid deck, which is bad... Subsequent bad draw kinda hides my weird and awful playing style which leads to my defeat.
Game 2:Much better starting hands. Got an early stilt and able to draw sanctuary one after another. Despite having lots of quanta, I can't kill the burrowed graboids which was actually beneficial to me later on. During mid game I have a feeling that deuce do not have lots of PU in his deck, but not really sure what else is in his deck. Played a miracle when the pends are in light mark just to be safe. When duece unburrowed/evolved his graboids, I was in deep shit because I only have 2 DLs in my hand. Thankfully, RNG like me time and gave me the third DL for the killing blow. IIRC and if my bolt spreadsheet is correct, I have the exact quanta needed for the win - 44 damage needed and I have 71
quanta at that time.
Game 3:1 pillar in starting hand... >_> IIRC, duece had zero pillar/pend but he played 2 novas. No stilt but gradually gaining quanta. Early lightning from duece triggered my brain that his deck may pack lots of lightnings instead of PUs. Played my sanc only when it's on light to save quanta (not sure if it's really helpful, though). Played the lone reflective shield. Had 2 hax shields in hand but no miracle for the longest time. Didn't played the shield because I was afraid of more lightning, hax shield cost too much and also due to the fact that duece can just deflag it. Kill his creatures one by one with LS and DL. duece deflag one of my sanc so I played the hax shield. Got a miracle and kill the rest of his creatures. Then, I just need to wait for deuce to deck out.
Thanks for the exciting games, duece. Better luck next time; unless you face darkness again.
