I used this deck without upgrades.

Round 1:
I saw entropy mark and prepared for lycans or nympho. Nova + Pendulum first turn. He get a draw with 2 pendulums and an amethyst pillar. I bought out a grabby, while he got a lycan. Another grabby comes out thanks to nova. He evolves his lycan and plays a discord. I draw a chaos seed and use it which gives me a drain life. I play a golem and he lets his quanta sit. He brings out another lycan and I lightning the first, killing it. I get out another hematite. We both sit there eating away at each others HP. He gets out a dragon and I bring out 2 grabbys. He brings out a dissapation shield and I would've won if discord had granted me one more quanta for the deflag I drew.

Round 2:
Bad draw here. I draw a nova but save it in case discord begins denying me again... Kael gets lycan and I get hematite. I get out a grabby and he lycans the lycan. Kael hits a nice move, and uses steal on my pendulum. We keep attacking...  Until I play nova, evolve one grabby and play a hematite in the same turn. I got my deflag and one nova to make sure of no dissapation shield. He gets out a dragon and AM's a hematite and shrieker. I play nova, lightning dragon, evolve shrieker and play mindflayer. Then we wait. I chaos his lycan an get shockwave. He odes his best, but to no prevail. GG

Round 3:
I start with 2 novas and a pendulum. I play the pendulum and one of the novas. He plays lycan, while I play grabby. he plays discord so I play my other nova and destroy it. I also evolve grabby since he does not have quanta for AM yet. I burrow the shrieker and play another grabby. I play a grabby and a mindflayer while he plays lycan. He lycans the lycan and I play my fifth grabby. We both keep attacking each other. He plays the shield, and I pop a nova. I eat at his shield. I draw another nova and evolve 3 grabbys. He plays the dragon, and drains a shrieker. I lose

After talking in Chat with you it seems we did have some good tactical plays and a card either way may have swung the win of each of the games.

I didn't see the match, but was it close enough that upped shriekers/golems would've made the difference?  What kind of remaining hp did darkness have the matches that $$$man lost?

Most liely the upgrades would have made a big difference, whether for better or worse, I dont know. The golems would have been the targets for AM. And I would not be able to burrow or CC them. But the shriekers extra damage could have won me the first match. Actually in the first match i could have killed him had discord given me one more fire quanta or had i draw a nova. But im not complaining.

As you can see, in screeny 1 I had both deflags. But screeny 2 was clearly his. Although I do clearly remember having 1 in screeny 1.
