As soon as I saw mark of fire, I knew this would be a tough match-up.  This was by far the tensest matchup I've had in war so far, especially in the last two games.

Game 1: Loss.  Combo deflagged my shields when it mattered.  I didn't draw enough PUs to put up damage and OE was nowhere to be found.

Game 2: Win.  I used CC to take care of his creatures and PUed enough golems to deal decent damage.

Game 3: Win.  Same as game 2, but I had more PUs early on, and an OE.

Game 4: Loss.  Here's where things started to get interesting.  Combo realized that he could 2-3tko me by hoarding damage and deflags in his hand until the last minute.  Well, it worked...VERY well.  I had no defense against his onslaught in the final turns, save some CC that didn't really help all that much, since he just had too much damage to contain.

Game 5: Win.  Combo tried the 2-3tko strategy again.  However, I drew an OE about 4-5 draws into the game.  When it came down to the final rush, I had about 80 HP and 3 PUs in hand, plus lightning.  Since he had 23 HP left, that was game.

Great games Combo.  Glad I got the chance to play you.

his recap is pretty spot on.

blitzed him game 1.
got killed by copies of my guys in game 2
got killed by copies of my guys in game 3
I hadn't showed rage pots yet so I played phoenixes to bait the PUs and then raged them.  was able to chip him down to where I got to 2hko
The OE showed up early which I knew was really bad.  Also my phoenixes were later so I couldn't chip away and bait the PUs.  I guessed he had 3 PUs since I'd seen almost his entire deck the round before.  But being at 23 going into the last push it could have been 2 PUs and 2 lightnings or any combination of things in his 7 card hand that'd kill me.

Well played sir.  Definitely the closest match I've had in main war.  REALLY wanted a third deflag or a firebolt or something.

The old draw the single OE every time they need it and win again, eh :/

I was sure we'd win this matchup too, and it was even better than I thought because of them not having any actual creatures...

Ah well. It comes down to the last then.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.
