Round 1: He got off to a fairly good start quanta-wise, but had no creatures. He also drew every single Lightning in the world. I had a decent start, got out a turn two Cockatrice. He proceeded to kill everything I had until he ran out of Lightnings, but I eventually beat him down with an Accelerated Charger.

Round 2: He drew no Pendulums until maybe turn 4, which really slowed down his Lightnings (if he had any). I outrushed him, and I suspect his draw wasn't stellar in terms of Phoenixes.

Good games Wavedash.

1st game: as wavedash already noted, no phoenix. I drew all five lightnings, and had lots of quanta, but zero offense for the first 19 cards = not very much winning for me. I barely got a phoenix out in time to prevent EM.

2nd game: Yes! I drew a couple phoenixes!. Unfortunately, I never had the quanta to play the many lightnings in hand, and so he still won the damage race pretty easily. Not as bad as the first one though.

Ah well. Sometimes that's just how the game goes!
