Good games, MMC - thanks for being such a good sport.
+rep for giving me the win in game 3 instead of having to play it out again - we both won vs. AI after the desync due to AI fault with my deck. Great sportsmanship shown here from MMC.
Game 1: When I saw the Aether mark and deck size, I thought I'd perfectly mindgated Guardtal here - the extra Nightmares were designed to counter any Fractal decks we went up against. My confidence fell considerably when I saw the first turn Nova, and figured this must have been some kind of Overdrive/Parallel Universe rainbow deck. We hadn't brought any creature control! An Oty came out, followed shortly by a SoFo, and I figured I was in big trouble for this matchup - luckily, I had an early Vagger on the field, which slowly chipped away at MMC's health. MMC used the last charge on his SoFo to kill one of my pendulums, to which I followed up with a second Vagger. When he was down to 36HP, I played 3 Dragons from my hand and Eclipsed them.
Game 2: Game started in a similar way to the first - strategy was to get an early Vagger out, and then burst with Dragons. Realizing MMC had no damage, I knew I could just wait to draw my Dragons, and then OTK once Vagger had brought him low enough. I played my big burst a couple of turns early, bringing him down to 14HP - expected some of my Dragons to survive, but MMC played a Lightning on each and ate them all. Just had to wait to draw my Vagger and last Dragon from my last three cards - with two cards left in my deck, MMC played a Sundial, and my heart sank. Was I about to lose this? Thankfully, he didn't draw his second, and my damage got through for a VERY close win.
Game 3: Figured I'd better be smarter here, and not make risky plays with early bursts against Sundials - had a favourable draw, but a topdecked Deflag destroyed my Vagger earlier than expected. The second wasn't too far behind, but we eventually desynced. MMC was close, but not quite within burst range when a SoFo took care of my second Vagger. The dreaded desync happened, and I knew my AI would play Devourers from my hand, buffing his Otyughs enough to eat my Dragons the turn after they were played. I managed the win against the AI by holding Dragons and Eclipse until I could 2TK - MMC also won on his end due to my AI playing Devourers, but honourably conceded the game instead of having us play it out again.
