First game I had a pretty sweet draw, don't remember the bulk of it but it did contain 2x Phase Shield and 2x EA. However, good draws were apparently not meant to be, as the next round I did not draw a Shield until I was down to 32 hp and he was at 17 cards. "Sweet," I thought, "It'd be easy to deck him out from here, our intel shows that this deck has no PC aside from EQ, but that was taken care of. Just have to wait him out." However, when my 2nd shield was at 0 counters, and I still hadn't drawn a 3rd, I knew I was in trouble. I did have SS in my hand, but only 10
. He'd only gotten 2 Shriekers and 1 Graboid out, which, combined with Discord, was only 30 damage (2 short) but it was easy to see that he could simply unleash his doubtless waiting hand. The SS came out and sent me to 40. He rushed me, and ended up dealing 38 damage. Then, with a mere 11 cards on the deck with 4 of them being Shields, and my being at only
2 hp, it was obvious that I'd get a Shield, right? Nope. 0-1
Second time I yet again drew no Shields in the opening hand. I just played out 3 Pends+2 Pillars, and obviously planned to EA them both next turn, but our firend Amilir gets an incredible draw and gets out a Discord, which takes away 4/5 of my
(Probably spiting me for how bad it was in R1) and allows his EQs to go to town on my stacks. Even so, I managed to get one of each out and alive, and would have been more than able to cast a Shield and win the game, but
I didn't draw any.So yeah, it really ****ing sucks to lose with a near-perfect counter. (Imagine if Legit had managed to win...)
