I really don't know what deck he used, besides some sort of wacky rainbow, but it would have worked against a lot of decks. Mine just happened to be a good counter for it.
Round 1: He got some novas off right away, and I had quite a few pillars/pendulums, but damage-wise we both had relatively bad starts. I was able to quanta drain him by EQ his only light pillar, and RT his lonely Pegasus. Eventually I had enough shriekers to finish him off.
Round 2: I got a much better draw, though I could have had maybe one more pillar to get my cards out faster. I was pretty worried when he got a fog shield and arsenic out quickly, but the shield didn't do so well, and I was able to get enough shriekers out that his freeze and RTs were next to useless.
