Terroking has this obnoxious habit of picking the exact deck we don't want him to. When we have in countered three ways out of four, he goes the fourth. So this round we decided to drop the one deck that hadn't been seen yet, maybe surprise him into getting a win. In all honesty, any rush or any quanta control would (and did) give it trouble, but it was a risk we took.
Game 1 I had an odd hand. It was full of my frogs, so I decided to try rushing. Titanium shield spelled doom for that strategy. But I did see him steal my Arsenic, which taught me something. He had steals. I stopped playing arsenic all together, and knew that playing thorn carapace as a shield would never work. I changed my strategy at once.
Game 2 I had a beautiful hand. Lots of pendulums, and I even dropped afla on his second devourer before he managed to play it. If I'd dropped all my pendulums at once instead of worrying about earthquake, I would have had my set-up right there. Thanks for considering this a win for me Coin <3
Game 3 I had a good hand, and I think he had a bad one. I drew more pillars than I thought statistically possible, and quickly dropped a frog and afla'd it. I got out two pillars and four pendulums, and he couldn't draw an earthquake to save his life. I had a full field when I dropped my first bond.
It all came down to that. I had two extra life quanta, he had four devourers. Statistics were on my side. The oracle had given me a blessing this morning. I'd been working all day to earn good karma. I just needed the four devourers to leave 2 life quanta in tact.
They stole three.
I died one quanta shy of healing enough to win. EDIT: He had a second steal in hand. -.-
