G1 LOSS:
DANI had 1 pend start. I kept helding back because of Nightmare and had a meh start with like 4 early Hope to boot. No Lobos and Bloodsuckers kept coming.

G2 WIN:
Won toss, Fractal RoL turn 3. DANI started with 1 pillar. Skull Shield blocked my offense for a while mid-game, but CC was too slow and Fractal Nymphs sealed the deal. The only Lobo I drew was stolen.

G3 LOSS:
DANI had a really good start, whereas I failed to draw RoLs. When I finally drew my first, I was way too far behind and them Bloodsuckers were waiting.

G4 WIN:
Two early Lobos meant I could keep CC at bay for some time even after my first got stolen. This one came really, really close until Miracle saved my butt.

G5 WIN:
Started with 3 RoLs and played first Lobo really early. I had to wait for quanta for Fractal for a long time and got Nightmared in the meantime, but the early RoLs and Lobo combined with a nicely timed Hope topdeck were all I needed to gain the lead. Also: luminescent cells, lalala.

War is always tricky in that way. Rng and lack of testing can make you lose a match that should have been a win a loss. The only thing you can do do is keep on working. If your predictions are right it proves you're on the right track. Because at the end of the day that's the most important part if you want to go far in war.

The deck that is posted is the deck that is in our vault. I was not around when torb made this comment, so I don’t know what he was referring to. Maybe because it was 31 cards he missed the upped pend?


Update: I just realized that the deck code in our pad had an upped miracle instead of aether pend, but the deck code in vault was correct version. So the deck torb posted and used is the correct and legal one.

Torb consulted with me and fixed the deck to comply with the 4 in-element upgrade rule, as stated in section 3.6.1 of the rules (minor errors). They will receive a 2 card penalty for the edit after deadline.

Damn, that feels bad. I just tested these two decks in etg vanilla, got a 7-3 in favour of death (possibly 8-2 considering skull shield is a bit screwy in etg, so I didn't play it), and I tried to play around nightmare as best as I could on aether's side. Not 100% sure I played optimally, though. Really like this deck from death, one of my favorites to play in general.

Btw, did you count your prediction vs us as a half mindgate?

yh, and it was before fire match, dark was on #2 in feared decks and number#1 in expected decks for me, i just never got around to testing

The deck I found in vault had the Miracle upgraded and only three quanta. I notified Zawadx immediately when I noticed, hence the one currently in vault is legal. It is also the deck I used.

The mods deuce made just before deadline compared to the deck I had entered were -1 Tower, -1 Light Mark, +1 Lobo, +1 Upgraded Miracle. Those cards saved my butt, but the Miracle should not have been upgraded.
