I suppose rather than changing the color to yellow, making the name Bold would be better... no?
Well it's really just a matter of taste ... so before I say anything let me say that it's totally what you think looks best, and either way you already did it in a nice, organized, clear way that I think everyone (including me) appreciates.
I guess my 2ยข beyond that would be that normally good design of tables or other informational assets dictates that simplicity is always best. To me, yellow is a bit too cluttered because the elemental symbols are colored. Few people who haven't studied the phenomenon realize that color is a powerful conveyor of information, and there are multiple studies in cognitive science that show the relationship between good color coding and rapid comprehension of data (this is usually done in terms of data visualization, whether maps, graphs or charts but I think it applies here).
I therefore would go with one simple measure to differentiate between a winner and a loser. Either strike through the loser, or bold the winner. Both is unnecessary; that way there is no "default" to which the change is being compared, and there is more information than necessary, which is inefficient (and therefore harder to process).
I hope that wasn't too much of an earful! As I said, you've used excellent design and this really is a matter of personal preference ... it just happens that I work in data visualization and these considerations are constantly in front of me at work ... so this is truly the short version of the possible response one could give.
Thank you again for this excellent chart!
