Holy crap. Most intense match I've ever played, easily. The dread and panic I got when I saw who I was faced up against was not a good thing to feel night before my Statics midterm. xD

Speaking of which, it's time to start cramming so I'll make this quick.

Deck:

Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 55t 55t 55t 55t 55t 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 590 590 590 590 590 590 5og 61q 61q 745 745 745 8pm

Overall, RNG REIGNED this match.

Game #1: WIN

Won the coin toss IIRC. I had a decent hand, can't remember exactly what I had (I REALLY need another program to replace Camtasia), but kirch had a much better one. He played four Novas and got down a first turn Golem. I evolved my Graboid and GP'd his Golem, getting it down to 1 HP. Next turn kirch BB'd it, and I facepalmed...a few turns later he BB'd again, and had a Gavel out already. By this time I thought it was over, but thankfully I killed him in a couple of turns and had enough CC to take care of the other creatures he got out promptly.

Game #2: WING
(No screenie this time, forgot =[)
Don't remember much from this game. I think I won the coin toss again. This time I made sure to remember to time my GPs appropriately, though it was helped by kirch only having one creature the whole time. He got a Fog shield down, after which I put down a Charger. He immediately BB'd that. RNG helped with the win, I think one turn I got 24 damage through the Fog.

Game #3: LOSS
Think I might have lost the coin toss...

Both of us had bad hands. He got an early Shrieker out tho, but I made a mistake by not GPing it immediately -- he wisely burrowed it, then got out an Arsenic and Forest Spirit. I GP'd the Forest Spirit, then continued played some creatures as he racked up his poison damage. I didn't get any more Novas, which may have caused my loss since I couldn't Lightning or evolve my Graboids. Strangely enough, kirch momentumed my Shrieker...pity Momentum or just a mistake? Didn't matter since he easily outdamaged me.

Game #4: LOSS

Lost the coin toss I think. I had a great quanta hand this time, enough to Lightning his first Shrieker. However, the only creatures I had for the majority of the game were my Chargers, meaning my four GPs in my hand were pretty much useless. Finally got a Shrieker out which meant I could finally get rid of his creatures, but it was too little too late. ><; His Fog and BB delayed my damage enough for him to gain an easy and large lead and strike the final blow.

Game #5: WIN

Won the coin toss IIRC (pattern?). Got rid of his early Shrieker and Spirit, then rushed him. We both got our Fogs out, I emptied my hand which meant I had to rely solely on topdecking. Last turn, I got a lucky Lightning, damaged him directly, and -- in true RNG style -- one of my Shriekers got through, winning the match.

Great games kirch, very intense, sorry about the sometimes slow response -- those were when I asked Vinez for help. Which brings me to: thanks Vinez! Sorry for making you stay up an extra hour because of the match...your advice really helped, I probably wouldn't have won without your experience with CC timing.

Took longer than I thought. Good night all! Time to study for my midterm.

Lost all 5 tosses just fyi.  Had him slightly outdecked here, but grabbow vs. grabbow can always be so RNG-y.

Game 1:  I thought I was up against its a trap, so my plan was to have gavel ping over the top for damage, but then his damage kept coming in waves.  He had 3 grabbies out asap.  This ended up spelling my demise in the end.

Game 2:  I pulled 1 creature all game.  I'm not really sure how this happens but it was almost as bad as game 3 for life in the bogtro vs. Noobiecakes match.

Game 3:  Started to get rolling here.  I was now pretty sure this wasn't it's a trap and figured I had a deck advantage if I played it right.  I was praying for perms the last 3 games since he showed no PC.

Game 4:  My strategy had become more clear now.  Try and keep grabbies away from CC as much as possible without falling way behind in the damage race and CC the chargers.  I was thankful at this point to see him play a fog shield after I had pretty much had this one won, because I would have used early deflags on quanta in game 5 if it had played out that way before gaining this knowledge.

Game 5:  ALMOST a perfect start for me.  Turn 1 gavel, in which I had determined gavel and fog were the true difference makers for me.  I had an explosion ready for his fog with 2 novas.  And then... RNG took the fire quanta for the gavel.  "No big deal" I thought, I would hopefully either not see a fog or find another nova.  A couple of turns later and a fog comes while I never see another nova all game.  This was disappointing because it helped him pull card after card he needed, while I was stuck in the mud and it allowed him to make an epic comeback.

GG's Kabhlewwy.  We expected dishole and you caught us on a deck that helped at least give you a puncher's chance to win.  Good luck the rest of war & on your midterm.

good try kirch. looks like we got mindgated with 7 cards of cc.

@ bhlewos, Before war i brainstormed a bunch of decks for the teams that finished rather low that i thought could do better. I actually came up that exact deck except -1 lightning + 1 arsenic. How ironic. Great deck and great games

Lol, great minds think alike? I think it was Jenkar and vagman who came up with that deck. I was worried in testing because it always felt slow, but the CC-heaviness paid off in the end.

Thanks! Doesn't look like it'll be too bad according to the old Exams (knock on wood)...

So I was way off on the coin tosses, my short-term memory < kirch's...guess I have to find a Camtasia alternative for the future. xD And good luck too you too.

Nils@ Thanks! Guess I avoided getting a piano dropped on my head for another round, yeah?

Congrats to Gravity here.  We were sweating for a reason, and well, know we know why.  Good luck going forward.

Losing all 5 tosses is frustrating as hell when going Grabow vs. Grabow.
