Of some reason bripod was kicked out of server several times during there games so I subed to see if I had any greater luck, which I had.

Game 1
Really bad draw, no nova in 10 cards and no pulvy is gg.

Game 2
Really even game. I got Auburn nymph and shield quite early but he had lots of light so in the end I was killed by an army of light nymphs who were healing him all the time.

Game 3
Great draw. Got pulvy to slow him down, got shield and auburn. That lockdown meant a gg this game. 2-1 to him

Game 4
Really poor draw for him while I had a rushy draw. 2 boids and a pulvy where attcking open doors, no hope means no win. 2-2

Game  5
No rols made this another open door game. Fast draw some boids and pulvy attacking, he didn't really have a chance to turn this around. 3-2

GG's UTlan. I think the rng was in our favor this time. I'm happy this deck won this time, better with your deck next time.

At last I'd like to say that there where some ruling about the games when bripod played but they where ruled as rematches.

The recap says 3-2 but the title says 3-0.  Just saying.

Aether appealed one of the desync'd games with bripod. There was insufficient evidence to indisputably say aether would have won that game.

WM ruling: Earth wins 3-2

I feel the need to explain what happened here.

  • UTAlan and bripod play their matches
  • Desync. Utalan takes screenshots.
  • Desync. Utalan takes screenshots. Tells bripod the game will be looked at after playout and decide on it when possible
  • Desync. Utalan takes screenshots.
  • I tell deuce we had good draws and might have a claim on the wins if we see a clear game after screenshots
  • deuce says play it out and it will be looked after if the game ends 2-3
  • I say ok. Suggest higu to sub for alan if bripod accepts.
  • Bripod keeps desync. Clearly problem on his side. We give him free sub if they want anyone else. Blacksmith plays
  • We lose 3-2
  • I made clear on the team chat we would only claim in the case of 3-2. We would accept the loss if we lost 3-0 or 3-1 even if we had screenshots of 3 earlier matches
  • I tell UTAlan we will never will abuse the rules but will defend our rights if we are 100% sure of it. He says he is at least sure of one of the matches
  • We claim the game as it really ended 2-3
  • bripod mad.
  • For now, i'm not posting here the conversation for the sake of bripod.
  • Rules say we win. Screenshots say we win as the desync happened at 9th turn and it was clear win.
  • deuce rules aether loss because of the said conversation.

As far as i'm concerned, we could claim 3 wins and should be ruled 3-0 win.

Spoiler for Hidden:
3.5 DISCONNECTS & DESYNCS
A player who is disconnected during a duel, for any reason, will receive a loss for that individual duel. Remaining duels will be played as normal.

Desyncs will result in both players playing against the AI unless both agree to restart the duel. Screenshots must be provided if a player beats the AI. If both players beat the AI, and one player takes a screenshot while the other does not, then the player with the screen shot wins. In the event both players win or lose, and both present screenshots, a reduel will be ordered. The exception to this rule is if both players agree that one player would have won/lost if it were not for AI misplays. All games can be appealed to WMs, but there must be indisputable evidence provided that one player would have clearly won.

If the desync causes strange things to happen, take a screenshot and the duel will be replayed.

@hain, rules do not say you win. And I did not rule a loss because of any conversation.

Current rules do not account for known disconnect bug. And based on the screenies submitted, it was definitely not a clear win at time of disconnect. Even with screeny of winning turn (10 turns later), bripod could have definitely won depending on the order of cards drawn and gameplay decisions made on both sides.

Current rules do not account for known disconnect bug.

You may want to change the rules then.

"A player who is disconnected during a duel, for any reason, will receive a loss for that individual duel. Remaining duels will be played as normal."

While our claim's official reason is the lack of screenshots, the real reason is our belief that we would have won that match vs bripod.

bripod told me three main reasons to why we can't claim:
1) That we didn't inform him that we may claim (Alan did)
2) Quoting bripod: "I could beat AI as it's not as proficient as UTA and therefore the game would be invalid"
3) We were evil cheaters.

@deuce Luckily you are defending bripod's rights better than him, by giving him all benefit of the doubt.

PS: bripod has no screenshots.

desync rules are going to be addended.

Current rules only ask for SS of win vs AI, which bripod could not have done because of the disconnect bug. And the disconnect bug is different from desync causing "Strange things", so this rule does not apply to this situation.

So a desync causing you to instantly lose isn't strange behavior?

Strange behavior is more meant about those screenshots you see of black 0|0 creatures, or random immaterial dimshield appearing, or opponent suddenly having negative quanta. Things where screenshotting "I lost because we had a desync & my opponent suddenly had 3 forest spirits that gained 3|3 every turn" or "I won because all my opponent's creatures died & left a singularity, gg no re"

NB these are hypothetical desync bugs I'm listing, but if these hypothetical situations arose, that'd be deemed "strange"

It's questionable about the difference between instant loss & spontaneous game state, since both ultimately result in a game where one can't meaningfully play out against the AI (ignoring AI misplays)
