Earth's Deck does not have 4 in-element upgrades, thus this is an illegal deck and a win for Death will be awarded  3-0  .

However as this was not caught by WMs at the start of the duel phase and confirmation was mistakenly given to team Earth of a legal deck, we are ruling that Earth does not have to discard the full 10 cards from this deck.

Maybe they used 2 relics for 2 sundials and didn't allocate the other 2 in-element upgrades

Hm. This was sad. This could have been easily avoided by simply switch the +2 upgrade boost ( from the deck used vs darkness which doesn't need the 2 upps more than this deck  ) used vs darkness to this deck. It's also a clear counter to their deck and the misstake didn't affect the matchup in any way. It should still be treated as a misstake of course and actions should be taken accordingly.
I'm thankful that you're willing to reduce the discard. And hope the vault tool will warn for this misstake in the future.

At first I thought "Oh shiiiii, ian's right" but then I was all "Wait, the vault tool has a box for relics to be used".



Hopefully Team and the WM's are aware of that box, its purpose, and that it was/was-not used or in-play here?
