Game 1: He want first, playing some stone pillars and earth pendula. With the Earth mark, I assumed he was playing Mono-Earth, so I played my darkness pendula strategically, expecting Earthquakes. I didn't draw any of the light pends/pillar for this game, unfortunately. I got a Stiletto out quickly, then animated and blessed it the next turn. More blessings allowed it to negate the damage of his graboids, even after a surprise nova that evolved one into a Shrieker. I played a Crusader and endowed the now massive Stiletto around the time avenger finally drew his second Nova and played a Deflag, Fog Shield, and Arsenic. The Fog Shield was the only worrying card; if my creatures missed, I wasn't regaining the HP needed to stay alive. After a bit of missing, he ran out of HP.
Game 2: I went first this time, quickly getting out another animated Blessed Stiletto to keep my HP high. Lots of Graboids this time, but he couldn't evolve them without his Novas. He had a Stiletto of his this time that did well at keeping his HP higher than I liked. Crusader arrived as the second Nova did, bearing a Lycan, Spirit, and the dreaded Fog Shield. As his hand emptied, I played the Nightmare I had been saving, filling his hand with unplayable Crusaders. The draw denial and the HP exchange from the Nightmare was enough to tip the game in my favor as my Stiletto and Endowed Crusader tore away his HP and gave it to me. Fog is no match for Darkness!
