In testing, this deck had about 50-60% win rate against almost all of the different variants of their fire duo (although, we didn't test against the one they actually used...). And my win rate was much higher if I won toss since earlier discord. I tested about 10 other decks, and win rates drastically depended on which variant they used. So, we decided to go with this deck to save relics and hope for good RNG.
Game 1 - WIN
won toss, but only had 1 pend. Also topdecked all 3 discords. -_- He played early wyrm. I played snova and discord. He dove his wyrm each turn. I PU'd his wyrm, and dove it several times (had 3 snovas). He played EE, which got deflagged. I played dragon, then he played 2nd wyrm. damage race was tight, but discord was trolling just enough. He knocked me down to 3 HP as I barely pulled out a win.
Game 2 - WIN
won toss, good quanta but no discord in hand. He played turn 2 nymph, which I PU'd. I also topdecked 2 EQs and knocked him down to 2 pills. He made UGs each turn, while I waited in case i drew discord so that he couldnt deflag my UGs...but discord never came. I deflagged one of his UGs, played dragon, and finally spawned a UG. He knocked me down to 65 HP and he had 3 UGs out. I stole 1 of his UGs preventing him from killing me, and I subsequently won next turn. (In testing, I never won without discord and I never won against a turn 2 nymph...insane RNG here)
Game 3 - WIN
won toss, I had lots of quanta and snovas. Then annamall plays nothing but pills. As he continues to play only pills I draw dragon, PU, and upped discord. I contemplated not playing discord so that I can play PU and dragon 2 turns earlier, but for some reason I played it anyway...that slowed me down 2 turns (I blame this on majofa making me get no sleep last night...). He finally played a dragon, which I PU'd and played my own dragon. I'm ahead in the damage race, but he plays nymph, then another dragon. Luckily, I had deflag and steal already in hand. Won by 1-2 turns depending on if he would have drawn another creature the next turn.
ggs annamall and gratz to team air making it to finals, you definitely earned it.
I also want to say thanks to all my teammates this war. Hain, every team needs a troll, and your confident trolliness brought an edge to our team that makes aether one of the most despised elements in the game (Love you!). Avenger, you are one of the most devoted war members a general could ask for, really glad I had the opportunity to work with you and win 2 wars with you. Wizardcat, you are the lurkiest cat I've ever met, but your gut feelings and mindgates definitely paid off when I had my doubts on what to send. Vagman, you are the most sexually explicit person i've met on EtG, SOOOOO glad I finally got to work with you this war, and your RNG is pretty epic too. Last but not least, UT, you are the greatest player ever in war, 7-0 is ridiculous, you are so OP, even if you are dead (figuratively, not literally).
To all those who hate aether, this is my last war as general of aether, so war will be up for grabs again.
