holy shit that was intense

Game 1 - LOSS
drew a single pend. psions came out slow. Plus jen had 3 AMs in top half of his deck. Started dimming around 55 HP or so. Jen timed his steal and deflag well. Not much I could do this game.

Game 2 - LOSS
Better quanta, psions and dims in hand...but no fractal. I started dimming around 55 HP, and I considered starting a turn earlier since he has 2 PC, but I decided not to. Fractal continued to hide. Ended up losing by a turn to exact damage. :/

Game 3 - WIN
good quanta, 1 psion, 1 fractal, 2 dims. Drew 2nd fractal fairly soon. Outrushed easily.

Game 4 - WIN
good quanta, 2 psions, fractal, and dim. Jen gets 1 pend draw. I rush like a madman. Another easy win

Game 5.1 - desync
servers decided to bork. I had perfect draw again...but we desynced turn 2 :( Destroyed AI easily, but had to replay.

Game 5.2 - WIN
Perfect draw for 4th game in a row. He got early OE out, which made me sweat. Only drew 1 fractal, so I was very close to getting stalled if Jen would have drawn another AM or if I didn't topdeck another psion 2nd to last turn.

Great games Jen-i. That was definitely the most intense match I've had this war. Good luck to you and team air (but I hope ave has better luck ;))

Game #1
1 Pend draw for deuce, I dropped an early Wyrm did some damage, he eventually got some Psions in play but between Antimatter and OE he never truly got damage rolling until too late. However, once the damage did get going, my team and I spent 5 turns yelling at my deck to spit out the Deflag I needed to win.

Game #2
Get quanta draw - but no Psions played for a long long while, I assume he was changing tactics to try and flood the field towards the end of the game, avoiding the ongoing CC from Owl's Eye, but given comments he made at the end of the game it's more likely it was just a bad draw. Very close game, I told my team I needed to top deck the Deflag on the last turn, with 8 cards still in the deck for me to get a win. And low and behold a Deflag appeared in my hand.

Game #3
For the first time we both had solid draws, but I started with a Psion in hand, I knew that if I drew a 2nd SN in the first 8-10 turns the game would be mine. I dropped an early Wyrm, did some damage, Deflagged his shield and did 30 more, I drew a 2nd SN eventually but far too late. I didn't bother playing it the last turn, would have been 5HP short of the win.

Game #4
Yay my turn for a 1 pend draw - I have vague memories of being totally pummelled.

Game #5
After several desynchs and nice hands all around we both FINALLY got into a game. I drew nice quanta and lots of creatures, but without any CC or SN for PC not much I could do here.

Great games deuce!
Well played Aether!

Just remember - I want my icon when we win!

I still prefer the name Frank redux redux.
Incredibly important win for Aether which beats down Air's biggest chance at recovering through salvaging. Air is down to the last breath, but their ace in the sky still lives. Has Aether finally come up with a reply, or will they have to try again next round? 'Tis the home stretch, gentlemen. Two beautiful, free forum backgrounds; one the mortal air and one the divine. Will we see Team Aether breaking a new record by becoming the first Element to ever win two Wars in a row?

As I watch matches like this and my loss to Avenger, I can't help but reminisce about a simpler time, when War matches were bo3 and details like a deck being "really good" or "a pile of crap" were less relevant.

Grats to both players here.  :)
