For games 2-5 I played -Explosion, -2 Shockwave and upgraded the Gravity Pull.
This is a very fun match up, win or lose. Congrats Water.
Game 1 (Loss):
I had a rushy draw this game, with two Graboids, a couple Damsels and an Explosion waiting for his early Dagger. Unfortunately for me, he has a second Dagger and a Nightmare, which slowed me down a lot. Needed to draw a Wings in the top half of the deck to win in the end, or a Fog on the final turn to have a good chance, but it didn't happen.
Game 2 (Win):
Reasonably fast draw for me, with 3 Damesls, a Wyrm and a Graboid. His draw was a little low on Water quanta, but otherwise strong with a Dagger and a Nymph out early. I bait the only Steal he draws with a Fog, then play a Wings to buy enough time to win quite comfortably. In fairness, JCJ likely would have lost if he saved the Steal for Wings anyway (assuming it blocks more than it did in G4).
Game 3 (Win):
A slow draw for me here, with no Graboids or Wyrms, but they came eventually. He uses his first Steal on an OE here, with the idea of saving the second for my Wings. Unfortunately for him I draw both Wings in the top half. The second copy gave me enough time to draw into creatures and win.
Game 4 (Loss):
A pretty bad draw for me here, with only two Damsels to start and no Nova. This ended up coming down to a straight damage race - JCJ had Dagger and Tears out quite quickly, but didn't have a Steal so my Fog had the opportunity to do good work. Unfortunately it ended up blocking around 5 or 10% of attacks, which was just enough for JCJ to win with exact damage by a turn.
Game 5 (Loss):
Poor draws on both sides, with no damage for either of us. I draw a couple of Damsels and an OE, which is promptly stolen. JCJ eventually draws a Tears as his 10th or 11th card, while I still wait for SoP/Arsenic/Graboid/Wyrm. My Wings buys some time, but OE keeps chipping me towards OTK range for JCJ. With 15 cards left in my deck I still haven't drawn another source of damage, and the second Steal for JCJ kills me.
