I find it funny that people think that my team is retarded and cannot form proper strategy. What we did was an optimal decision. Our vault was strong, perhaps the strongest of all, but I was still a good idea to destroy it under an event card like this. Of course you will laugh if we lose. However, the plan is good. Whether we win the War or not is a different story.
QFT.
I don't think it is true. At least, in this topic i found no multiple people posting, who think team light is retarded and cannot form proper strategy. Most people agreed that this is the way.
The part where Zeru wrote they wanted to avoid fighting each other is of course BS :)

From my (quite foggy) view, I do not see how dumping half your vault (you were required to split it in half) into a suicide was better than using those refuse cards to take a long shot against fire.  Even with 5% odds of beating fire, those odds are better than your chosen 0%.  Your vault is 95% shown from last round... you made two decks that won last round.

You have lead a winning (very winning) team in war, and Majofa is quite capable as well.  I, on the other hand have nothing to show for weight to my opinion.  I fully expect you to know what you are doing.  I just cannot see it.  I hope through the next few days I get a glimpse of your team's brilliance and can learn and grow from it.

(you were required to split it in half)
War rules : Teams able to field more than one player permanently split their vault, giving 30 or more cards to each player

Which i interpret as :
Teams able to field more than one player permanently split their vault, giving minimum 30 cards to each player, splitting the rest however they please.

Light gets 8 more cards to Majofa then I had at first thought.  Let's hope they are useful.

Sure. I will write down the exact plan after the war ends. Not a day before that. Right now everything is going 100% just as planned. Ah, and yes, that Zeru vs majofa thing was of course a joke ;)

In my analysis of light's vault and matchups, I stated in our secret chat that majofa would be stupid to not suicide against us. We saw them potentially sending us 1 deck which probably had a 40-50% chance of winning, while leaving majofa a functional yet limited vault. With that vault, majofa probably should have still made it to finals, but zeru would have 0% chance of beating death. Thus, the only logical choice is to give majofa a versatile vault so that he has the best possible chance in finals.

Like I said as soon as zeru posted the suicide, this was a very smart decision. Light easily could have beaten us, but it would hav only diminished their chances of winning war.

War is over. As I promised, I will explain what our plan was.

Quote
THE PLAN:
Step 1)
All cool cards for majofa, scraps for Zeru.  ~ COMPLETE
Step 2)
Fire > Light - done
Death > Fire - done
Death > Darkness - done
Light > Entropy  COMPLETE
Light > Time COMPLETE
Light > Death
Step 3)
majofa gets a neat title.
Planning to plan the plan

Basically, with an event card like this the win condition was: (Zeru defeats: Fire, Death and Darkness/Earth) or (majofa defeats: Entropy, Time/Gravity, other finalist). Also, the team gets eliminated after a single loss. So there is no plan B. After an analysis of the enemy vaults I realized that the hardest matches would be Time and Darkness. From there it was a simple choice. majofa would have to be as strong a possible to defeat Time. I on the other hand had to make sure that Darkness is not the other finalist.

Conclusion aka finishing the plan.

I quickly realized that I did not need to try to make majofa as strong as possible. Instead of directly trying to defeat Darkness myself, I would use other teams for that purpose. Whether Fire or Death would win in round 2, both would have a nice chance against them. So it turned out that my further participation in war was not only unnecessary but bad for the team and that was unacceptable.

Post war thoughts

It's funny. I rarely plan out stuff to that kind of detail (come on, my plan assumed that I guess all match results correctly), but somehow I did an exception this time. And guess what. Each and every single match result was guessed correctly (too bad I didn't play that betting contest). I could not help but to write "just as planned" in all the battle threads. It never went as nicely as this time.
In the end, the plan was complete. Thanks to giving majofa as many cards as possible, we managed to win all our matches. Thanks to my early elimination, we received an "easier" opponent as the other finalist. What could possible go wrong at that point?

Oh well. It was definitely a great event. GGs all.

Thanks for posting this. I had no doubt you had this analyzed to the T and i am just ecstatic we managed to at least foil the final part of your plan. Now my mission is almost complete. A war title, 4 master titles, and only a grandmaster title to go...
