Another coinflip win vs Aether. Can't help thinking that the coin was weighted slightly in their favour this time, too... I should really start gambling.
Good games, you've had a very impressive War.
Game 1 (Loss):
Very early Mindgate for RR. I started with a couple pillars, a Wyrm, a Dragon and some SoFr, but that was all the damage I drew in the top 19 or so cards - not too difficult for RR to shrug off. It gave RR plenty of time to Mindgate a chain of Pillars so that when the rest of my creatures arrived, they landed on both sides of the board. With a couple SoSac for him he won the damage race quite comfortably.
Game 2 (Win):
Honestly have no idea how this game was a win. I drew no Dragons at all in the top 16 cards, relying on one Wyrm and 4 Damselflies to keep the pressure on RR. Thankfully RR drew neither Death pend nor Mindgate this game, so once my Dragons eventually hit the board he didn't have enough to deck me out and couldn't kill me with damage either. Ended up bursting him down with 2 Dragons after a Dial + SoD combo.
Game 3 (Win):
If I had the option to choose the card I drew each turn, the order would have been pretty similar to my actual draw this game. All 5 of my big hitters plus 3 SoFr and an EE in the top half meant I had a ton of pressure early, and my deck had nothing useful left for his mid-game Mindgate to take. There were about 10 turns where he needed exactly one of Miracle, Sundial or SoSac to win with only one or two cards in his hand, but with about 5 cards left for me he finally ran out of ways to stall.
Game 4 (Win):
Another 1 Wyrm, 4 Damsel start. This time I had an EE and drew the first Dragon as my 12th card, though, soon enough to be able to 3tk him very early on despite the early SoD. I don't draw a third creature for a while so it takes quite a while to put him into 2tk range, but the good start forced him to use quite a lot of his stall cards early. It came down to a topdeck War: he needed a Dial/Miracle/SoSac/SoD to survive, drew a SoD, I needed a Dragon topdeck to kill him, missed a 1/3 chance, he needed a Miracle/Dial to survive, got it, and needed a Miracle in the next two cards for one more chance to get the SoSac. He missed drawing the final Miracle, though, with a 1/5 chance.
