Perm heavy decks are always interesting to play against decks with 4 Steals - I quite enjoyed this series. All of these games were close - only game 4 was won by more than turn. 1 out of 5 cointoss wins was quite punishing in the end. Either way, congrats Life!
Game 1 (Loss):
I had a fairly slow draw this game, with a Dragon out at turn 4. Manuel had quite a slow draw too, though, so I'm not doing too badly. After hemy first Wings I have the chance to take the game with Wings #2. With an empty hand, Manuel needed exactly a 2nd Steal to keep him alive, and draws it. He then needed exactly a Vamp Dagger for enough healing to survive on 1 health, and draws it. He then needed exactly a Frog/Cockatrice for enough damage to kill me, and draws that too.
Game 2 (Win):
A turn 3 Dragon for me this time, but a fast draw with a lot of Frogs for Manuel. I baited the first Steal with an OE and got my Wings to stick on the board for a couple of turns while he was waiting for 4 Darkness quanta, then play a second Wings after he steals the first. He has another Steal for this one, but by that time I've caught up in the damage race and end up winning by 2hp. I was 1 quanta away from winning with a Blitz the previous turn.
Game 3 (Loss)
This game I draw no permanents at all. Lost the coin toss (which was very important here), but with a fairly fast draw with turn 3 Sky Dragon and turn 5 Sky Dragon - few Damsels, though. Unfortunately for me, Manuel has the perfect anti-aggro draw, with Dagger into 4 creatures very quickly, and a Nightmare to back them up. Ended up losing by 6hp - a Wings at any point would have won me the game.
Game 4 (Win)
Nothing but 4 Damsels and 4 Pillars for me this game. I ended up drawing an OE and a Wings quite quickly, and play both at once hoping to stall long enough to draw into a Dragon soon after. Manuel decides to steal the OE thanks to a draw quite low on creatures for him - it ended up being a wise move, as I then drew into the other 3 Wings. He stole two of these with around 3 and 4 turns left on them, but the final one lasted my the full 5 turns. It gave me enough time to finally draw a Dragon as the 15th card of my deck, enough to win very quickly thanks do around 75 damage from Damsels.
Game 5 (Win)
A very similar opening to game 4, except this time I had fewer Damsels to start with and only drew two Wings all game. This was the one game Manuel drew few Steals - he stole the first Wings, but the second one lasted three turns and the third for the full duration. However, this time I had no Dragon in the top 17 cards. One at any point would have been a win for me.
